| | Richard Digance & Arnie Cottrell Richard Digance has performed to an audience of eight in The Falklands and to half a million at Knebworth with The Beach Boys and Dire Straits. He's done lots in between too that's led him to a BAFTA Nomination and a Gold Award from The British Academy of Composers and Songwriters. He also finds nine letter words on Countdown. He has survived all trends in comedy and music and remains one of Britain's most unique entertainers performing his songs, rhymes and stories like nobody else. Others may tell stories and play guitar but they probably haven't performed with Steve Martin and Robin Williams or played guitar with Brian May of Queen, Status Quo or Joni Mitchell and probably supporting more acts than anyone else in the World; Steeleye Span, David Essex, Supertramp, Elkie Brooks, Joan Armatrading, Cat Stevens, Jethro Tull, Jim Davidson, Chas n Dave, The Allman Brothers and Cher, Roy Orbison, Tom Jones, Mike Oldfield and The Beach Boys His TV specials for ITV ran for a record 11 years and on these shows he played guitar with Brian May, Status Quo, The Moody Blues, Buffy St Marie, Marc Cohn who wrote Walking in Memphis, Chris de Burgh, Juan Martin and Elkie Brooks. This show is purely music with Richard performing with renowned Southampton acoustic blues/roots artist Arnie Cottrell. This is one of only 6 tour dates - don't miss it. 8.30pm - 11.30pm adv £10.00 |

| | Dave Kelly One of the very best blues vocalists and slide guitarists this country has produced.Dave is well known for his 20+ years with The Blues Band but from the beginning he's played with some of the greatest blues artists in the world - including Howling Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Son House & Buddy Guy.He's had his own Dave Kelly Band on and off for over 20 years, as well as performing solo and touring an acoustic blues duo show with Paul Jones - this man simply lives and loves the blues! When The Blues Band was formed in 1979, the post of slide guitarist and joint vocalist was a foregone conclusion, Dave Kelly's guitar and vocals form the very backbone of The Blues Band's distinctive sound. Today, after 21 years 'treading the boards' with the band, with his solo albums, duo tours with Paul Jones, and soundtrack work (for commercials and such projects as BBC TV's 'King of the Ghetto' and the Comic Strip's 'Strike!') Dave Kelly is firmly estabished as Europe's premier blues performer. 8.30pm - 11.15pm adv £10.00 |

| | Bill Sheffield & Dave Saunders The big bluesman from Atlanta, Georgia makes a welcome return to Europe to promote his superb new album 'Got a gig, got to go' - every gig is different - you never know what he's going to play next, many people come to several gigs to hear as much of Bill as possible ! Expect everything from Hank Williams through Robert Johnson, Blind Willie McTell, Broonzy, even REM, all mixed in with his brilliant self-written songs about his own quirky and humourous observations on life! "Bill Sheffield takes the stage unpretentiously, cradling a vintage Gibson Acoustic or his trusted Martin OM. At first he appears almost shy, his eyes scanning the room, making connections. He slowly starts into his own rendition of an old blues classic, maybe Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters or Blind Blake. Before long Bill takes control of the stage, captivating the audience. Combining a finger picking style that rolls over you like a freight train with his electrifying and dazzling guitar work. There is no denying it, Bill Sheffield is a master of the Blues and a true master of the guitar. He exudes the personality of the songs he sings playing every song from the heart. The minute you hear him you know.........." 8.30pm - 11pm adv £10.00 |

| | Lisa Mills & Ian Jennings Lisa Mills from Mobile Alabama is an exceptional singer and songwriter singing in Janis Joplins first band 'Big Brother and the Holding Company' after Janis' demise performing all of the Janis Joplin parts, while given the freedom to give her own interpretation of the music. She toured with BBHC for three years throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. She has been compared to Etta James, Billie Holiday and Brenda Lee but her main comparison is an extraordinary vocal similarity to Bonnie Raitt. Led Zeppelins Robert Plant found her and had no hesitation in asking her to open his American stadium shows - they have performed on the same bills across the US and Europe. Lisa also appeared with Dr John on his UK tour last October and, although she has played in front of more than 40,000 people Lisa admits to liking it best when she can connect with her audience. Accompanied by Ian Jennings of Big Town Playboys/Jeff Beck/Van Morrison/Eric Clapton fame on upright Bass we are all in for a treat! Take Robert Plants advice 'You should all check her out - she has a wonderful voice'. 8.30pm - 11.45pm adv £8.00 |

| | Derrin Nauendorf Determined to make something of his music career, five years ago Derrin Nauendorf arrived at Heathrow airport from Australia with a guitar, £1200 and several extra layers of clothing to acclimatise to the drop in temperature. From this, Derrin spent those next five years playing anywhere that would have him, sleeping on floors and living on tuna baguettes. Literally over 1000 gigs later Derrin finds himself with fans not only in England, but Scotland, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, France and his native Australia too. He has since managed to sell over 12,000 albums and become a bit of a hit on the festival circuit too. He's supported Van Morrison and played to dignitaries and politicians in grand Parisian castles right down to WW2 bunkers in Germany and two-men-and-a-dog type shows in Denmark. Derrin is a determined sort and this independence has meant that he can turn up anywhere and get a show out of it. He's now played practically anywhere and everywhere, building up a small barmy army of supporters who'll follow him for several dates at a time. Derrin's new album, The Rattling Wheel, is actually his fifth release following such titles as 2005's New History and 2003's Wasteland, The Rattling Wheel is a personal leap forward. Alongside tell-tale nods to his main influences of Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Martin Stevenson and Richard Thompson, there's hints of John Martyn and traditional British folk, blended in with his own rootsier, bluesier, and altogether gutsier sound. An intense and raw performer, Derrin works best in the live setting - it is, after all, how he got his reputation - and why we're here now, at the cusp of the bigger, better things for a man who's more than paid his dues and kept the receipts. The only way now is up. 8.30pm - 11.30pm adv £8.00 |

|
|
| Print 3 flyers per A4 page, with marked cutting guides. Hint: setting your start date to the first of a month, and your end date to the last day of a month, gives a neat heading on your flyer, e.g. setting 1 May 2008 and 31 Aug 2008 as the start and end dates will produce the heading: 'MAY - AUGUST 08'. Try it! You can also set the font size to a decimal value (e.g. 9.3) to make the gigs fit exactly onto the page. | |
