Large pub with a "stage" at one end (actually by day a raise seating area in the main pub). Used my a friendly group of bikers and offering all the usual pub facilities including real ale.
It is a little off the beaten track so tends not to get very packed (and is quite big) but if you are coming down for the music and need a seat get there early as most of the seating area is at the "wrong" end of the pub and you cannot see the stage from it.
If you are using public transport you need to get a H13 or 331 from Ruislip Station. Using the H13 from Ruislip tube take it to the stop just before Ruislip Lido on Bury Street and then walk up Breakspear Road from there following the signs for the crematorium, continue past it and past The Woodman, and keep going to the end of the road, total walk about 3/4 mile.
Or take the 331 and alight from the stop at the end of Ladygate Lane more or less where it meets Breakspear Road, turn left at the latter (the bus goes right). This second option brings you nearer to the pub. There is now a continuous pavement on this road.
Ask the driver where to get off if you do not know the area!!! |
