Best Kept Secret's pageBest Kept Secret has MP3(s) on Lemonrock  Best Kept Secret are a four-piece acoustic covers band playing popular music from the 60's to present day.

Having spent some time in the South West music scene we found that many venues were unable to find a band capable of delivering an evening's entertainment where the audience could sing along while the bar staff could still hear them speak. So we created Best Kept Secret to fill the gap.

Using acoustic instruments, some hand held percussion and vocal harmonies our music can be laid back & relaxed, but also have plenty of energy to keep an audience singing along all night. 9.30pm - midnight

Suspicious minds laid to rest A Tribute To Elvis - Tim Bassett on Sun 26th Aug 07
A Tribute To Elvis - Tim Bassett's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. rated as one of our top reviews I took my daughter and her friend - they're in their mid-twenties - to my local pub on Sunday evening to see 'Tribute to Elvis'. Having seen a few Elvis impersonators in our time we weren't sure what to expect. I was surprised to see a black leather-clad (the '68 Comeback Special' version) of Elvis instead of the more familiar late Vegas one beloved by overweight 50 year olds! Here was an Elvis fresher than the usual bloated stereotype. And the voice! This was a geezer who could really sing!

An act of this calibre requires a good sound and 'Elvis' was well-supported in this respect by an extremely able lights and sound assistant.

The final segment of this most enjoyable evening was dramatically introduced by the strain of 'Thus Spake Zarathustra' more popularly known as the beginning of '2001- A Space Odyssey'. This and flashing lights designed to put Blackpool illuminations in the shade culminated in an explosion of Elvis in all his white sequined Las Vegas glory! Did I detect a few moist eyes among the appreciative throng? Some secret longing nurtured over the last 50 years for the Glory that was Elvis?

The blues, the rockers and the ballads, all very capably handled. This guy is the business no mistake. For one night only The Crown Inn was at the end of lonely street, yessiree.

My daughter's only whinge - 'Bit of a dodgy rug, dad!'. Tell me it ain't, Tim.

Please consider the environment before printing this flyer.
Print 3 flyers per A4 page, with marked cutting guides. Hint: setting your start date to the first of a month, and your end date to the last day of a month, gives a neat heading on your flyer, e.g. setting 1 May 2008 and 31 Aug 2008 as the start and end dates will produce the heading: 'MAY - AUGUST 08'. Try it! You can also set the font size to a decimal value (e.g. 9.3) to make the gigs fit exactly onto the page.
