As much as some bands will (strangely) do their utmost to avoid it, some songs just scream huge commercial potential as soon as the BIG chug-along riff kicks in on the title track, Its hard not to be ensnared by this classic metal fist pumping anthem with its memorable snarled chorus. The accompanying tracks flit with more modern metal influences, none more so then during the frantic vocal exchange in Nilson. Recommended. -- Junxion 17 magazine, Issue09
Darksun Rising - Four track EP "Bite the Bullet" comes in eerily, but soon storms into life, and is driven along by solid guitar and bass riffs while the gutsy vocal works away. There's a Metallica vibe here, in the down to earth, honest rock/metal rhythms, but there's an occasional nod to far more contemporary influences such as Speedhorn or System of a Down. "Low" breaks further into the later territory, with an angry, twisted feel, and "Nilson" speeds away insanely before going off on one as the track turns into "Kali Ma" - Great British Metal. -- Neon Promotions, London
LIVE REVIEWS
The heaviest band on the bill. Their vocalist paced the stage in a similar style to Pitchshifters Jon Clayden, and looked slightly like him. Id say their style was in the vain of the intense metal British bands like Raging Speedhorn or Medulla Nocte, with a dash of Bostons Converge their material comprised some pile-driving brutal songs. -- John Higgins, BBC Reporter
There's a distinct rumble in the jungle as these guys start out, with an ominous bass and much pounding of drums. Guitars skirl away for a moment and then with a massive roar from the singer, the first song is under way proper. This is, you will have gathered, very heavy stuff - there's a British metal feel to the music and a good helping of hardcore to boot. The battering double kick and rumbling bass can be felt at a distance, and the songs are mostly very speedy. There are a few nice squeals licks and riffs from guitar. Each song is an intense furious assault, but with a few little flourishes and enough control to stop things from going into melt down. -- Neon Promotions, London | |
