Diverse! The Showman, Exeter on Fri 18th Apr 08
The Showman's pageReview NOT edited by Lemonrock - original text Once again we were in the company of the Dufflebags last night. One of the best bands we have here at the Showman. As always there was something new to the set & this time this included some great cover versions so the set not only pleased the lovers of their original written stuff but also held the crowd of music fans who like to hear what they can sing along to. Last nights sound was superb , well engineered. As a bonus the Old Porch Boys filled in the breaks & started off the night too. A great acoustic sound with fiddle , mandolin , double bass , various guitars & to top it all their very own tap dancer ! Well done guts.

Paul.

Reply from The Dufflebags: Thanks Paul! We had a great night at the best live music pub in the city.
Original sound The Showman, Exeter on Fri 5th Oct 07
The Showman's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. The Dufflebags are a band who write and perform their own material. 99% of the songs are written by the talented Chris Davies with some assistance from the other band members, it's a team effort and this you can tell from the way the sound fits together so well.

From memory the instruments consist of Mandolin, Mandocello, acoustic guitars times two, electric guitar, electric bass and drums.

The songs have individual melodies and if you listen to the words they make sense. We at the Showman have always been keen on bands who can perform their own material and positively encourage bands who are capable of this.
The Dufflebags are one of the best original acts on the circuit today, they perform with a genuine love for the music coming first and the financial gains are second.

Great act that comes highly recommended, a folky sound with superb voices and great lyrics.

Print 3 flyers per A4 page, with marked cutting guides. Hint: setting your start date to the first of a month, and your end date to the last day of a month, gives a neat heading on your flyer, e.g. setting 1 May 2008 and 31 Aug 2008 as the start and end dates will produce the heading: 'MAY - AUGUST 08'. Try it! You can also set the font size to a decimal value (e.g. 9.3) to make the gigs fit exactly onto the page.

[Sun 12th Nov 06] Chris Gayle's 60th Birthday Pa... Chris Gayle's 60th Birthday Party was a really great night. The band played for at least 3 hours. During the break Traffic Jam played which meant that Graham, Sean & Jo had to continue playing and only Mart & Chris had a break. There was some great dancing from the girls from Sainsbury's who really had some front!
