Original Demo 1 : Flickering Flame [Cinema]12345678910 3 votes average 7.67 Notes from Dundee Station: "Nick and the band worked long and hard on this song's arrangement. Nick would sometimes spend the whole day (and night!) in his studio, remixing, editing, re-thinking...
Nick's engineer, Tony, reckons that this is an OBVIOUS Christmas hit for the UK and beyond, with its spectacular sound effects and close-miced vocal. Well, mister record producer man/woman, why don't you just give this excellent little song a try..."Get the Flash Player (and enable JavaScript) to listen to this MP3.
Original Demo 2 : Gives U Life [Fun]12345678910 3 votes average 7.67 Notes from Dundee Station: "This little gem was inspired by whistling... from The Seekers, and a bizarre TV ad for a vacuum cleaner (anybody?...), and also from a gripping episode of Tales of the Unexpected (or something similar) where a scientist was trying to disprove that the soul lived on after life... there was loads of weird electronic test equipment, oscilloscopes with dancing waveforms and this little circuit board that has a voice synthesiser on it... as the story unfolded, the voice became more and more human..."Get the Flash Player (and enable JavaScript) to listen to this MP3.
Original Demo 3 : Simple Sally [Pop/Rock]12345678910 4 votes average 7.25 Notes from Dundee Station: "You know when you suddenly think something is so funny you just start to collapse with laughter, and the more you think about how funny (or ridiculous) the situation is, the funnier still it gets?...
This is a rock re-working of an acoustic comedy song that I wrote in 2001 about a dear friend of mine who caused a major incident in Safeway whilst shopping.
We shamelessly use the Roxy Music paradigm, with keyboards and sax (thanks Amy!) - Dundee's voice sounds a bit like Ferry anyway."

[Thu 8th Nov 07] Blimey! We're Lemonrock's MP3 ... Blimey! We're Lemonrock's MP3 of the Week! What can we say, except, er, Blimey.
It's over six months since we recorded this album, and things have moved on... Nick has moved to Wales to stir up some musical mayhem on the Pembrokeshire coast, and Mac is totally immersed in Lemonrock software development.
Anyway, back to MP3 of the week... this was inspired by all those Christmas movies - It's a Wonderful Life (based on "The Greatest Gift")... White Christmas, Santa on a sleigh gaily slurping Coco-cala, and some frozen chap on a bicycle with a great idea for a song, tears in his eyes as he realises he will never get the girl. Aaah, boyhood, it makes a man of yer.
** Synchronicity is real... On November 13, 2007 (hey, that's next week!), Paramount will release a two disc special edition DVD of "It's a Wonderful Life" that will have both the original theatrical black and white version, newly restored, and a brand new third colorized version, the first in high definition, produced by Legend Films using the latest colorization technology.
See if you can spot the flickering flame.
