We are active on the Exeter, East Devon, Dorset circuit and play songs you thought you'd never hear live and loud again! Step back to the days when your daddy had hair and your momma wore flares!

We are available for functions, weddings, birthdays and pub-gigs. In fact, wherever you want to hear good-old classic 1970's, bad-assed rock n' roll!

When did you last hear 'Silver Machine' or 'Sylvia", 'Don't Break My Heart Again' or 'Don't Believe A Word'!?

We play as a 5-piece where space allows, but otherwise we go out as a 4-piece, without keyboards.

At our gigs you know you'll get music that is 70's, classic and rocks!!

ecstatic landlord The Weary Traveller, Cullompton on Sat 8th Mar 08
The Weary Traveller's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. I first met Pete, the lead singer of 'Landlady' when he came to watch 'Max' last year here at The Weary Traveller. Having already read some of the reviews here on Lemonrock I was more than happy to book the band and fill the last couple of Saturday nights for 2008 - and I'm certainly glad that I did.

Electric Landlady proved be consummate musicians from the very start - even warming up with 'The Sound Check Blues' you knew they could perform. Opening with Hawkwind's 'Silver Machine' and then going straight into my favourite of the night, Pink Floyd's 'Another Brick in The Wall' - the classic rock hits of the 70's just got better and better.

Now I am no musician so I'll refer you to the other reviews here on Lemonrock from people who are far more qualified and can enthuse eloquently about the technical merits of their show - but as a pub landlord just the right side of fifty (if there is such a thing) who enjoys all live music and can appreciate quality musicianship - especially when it's the music from youth - I cannot recommend these boys enough.

So those of you who organise venue bookings give this band a call - you will not regret it. Five talented musicians - superb 70's twin guitar rock - 2 sets of approximately 75 minutes each (thats an extra hour to the norm) - great value for those hard earned pounds we have to pay.

Once again to Ian, Pete and the boys many thanks for a great night's entertainment!

Reply from Electric Landlady: Hey Steve! Thanks for the booking! Many venues are pretty conservative with their bookings. If you haven't played before, you won't get booked! More power to you, my friend for taking a gamble on us. We're glad it paid off and very pleased that you enjoyed our show so much - and have been so thoughtful as to recommend us here! Five people (you included) told us that they thought we were one of the very best bands to have played at your venue. The Weary rocks!
Class act Black Horse, Sidmouth on Sat 24th Nov 07
Review edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. rated as one of our top reviews Electric Landlady are a fine band with much to be proud about. It would be all too easy for them to sit back and let the set list speak for itself, such is the pedigree that it contains. Yet they deliver the classics with an enthusiasm and passion that is rarely seen on the live circuit. There is quality and energy in the performance and they strike a balance which gives the material a life of its own whilst remaining faithful to the originators. The singer delivers strong vocals and adds guitar which complements rather than competes with the main guitarist. The main guitarist was faithful to the songs and didn't overplay, yet still managed to sound both original and fresh, adding some stunning lines of his own. The bass player was steady throughout and gave a lovely balance to the overall sound of the band. Keyboards were spot on and added both depth and colour to the set. This is the first time I have heard the new drummer and he has lifted the band to another level, he clearly has a good ear and feel for the music coupled with great technique.

So many good songs, but a nod to Humble Pie's version of 'I don't need no doctor' and respectful and gutsy versions of 'Highway to Hell' and 'All Right Now' stood out for me.

When bands often take themselves a bit too seriously, it's nice to be reminded of what live music is about- entertainment.

Reply from Electric Landlady: Why thank you kind sir! All the Landladies are chuffed and tickled to bits with your review Paul; are you sure you were at the same gig as us?!! Hahaha! Joking aside, its great that nice people like yourself post reviews. Thank you very much. Hope to meet you again soon at a 36FF gig!
70's Rock - with a smile! The Royal Clarence, Seaton on Fri 12th Oct 07
Review edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. rated as one of our top reviews If you would like a trip down memory lane and slip back into an era when the only things longer than the guitar solos was the length of the band's hair, then look no further then an evening with Electric Landlady.

Whilst the hair may be a little shorter these days, the enthusiasm that the band have for recreating some of those classic tunes is undiminished. Even from the warm up 'Soundcheck Blues', it was clear we were in the company of some highly competent musicians.

The two guitarists have very contrasting styles of playing, with Ian taking on the main mantle of rock god as he struggled to tame a snarling Gibson SG, and Peter taking the workhouse role of lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist. With a solid foundation of bass and drums, the stage was set for an evening of 'rock with a smile'.

The set list covered a wealth of material from a diverse range of artists. We had Neil Young's 'Like a Hurricane', Pink Floyd's 'Another Brick in the Wall', Highway to Hell from AC/DC, Purple's 'Smoke on the Water' (with a guitar solo that dear old Ritchie would find very pleasing), Lizzy's 'Don't Believe a Word' an extended version of Fleetwood Mac's 'Go Your Own Way' that had the audience joining the band in a riot of vocal styles and a lengthy dueling guitar solo on a song (whose title unfortunately eludes me) where there was a real danger of both guitarists running out of frets.

Although the whole evening was highly entertaining (with no danger of the band ever taking themselves too seriously), perhaps some of the highlights for me were great covers of Thin Lizzy's 'Are You Ready', Zep's 'Whole Lotta Love' and 'Rock 'n' Roll' (which Peter and Ian handled with distinction) and a blistering version of Skynyrd's (what song is it you wanna hear) 'Freebird' which had Ian taking on the solo which the late great Allen Collins would have been proud of. There were points during the classic solo when I was unclear whether smoke filling the pub was due to the speed of Ian's fancy fretwork or the possible influence of a smoke machine that fired off intermittently during the set.

All in all a great night which saw the size of the audience grow as the evening progressed and the band delivering the goods in style.

Despite that somewhat alarming high pitched whistle in my ears as I left the venue, I could still hear just enough to reply when asked .. Are you Ready to Rock?- "Not half!!"
Darrell Jackson, Fri 26th Oct 07
Reply from Electric Landlady: Hi Darrell, high praise indeed, especially when it comes from such a consumate musician as yourself! Tinnitus aside, we're glad you enjoyed the show; it was a great night. Glad to say Sue had her diary open as soon as we'd finished, so we'll be back at the Clarry on 21st Dec. Oh, the 'dueling guitar solo' was from our take on Humble Pie's version of "I Don't Need No Doctor", and my fingers do actually ignite during Freebird! Honest! Hope to catch one of your gigs soon! Cheers, Ian
enjoyable Black Horse, Sidmouth on Sat 29th Sep 07
Review edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. Went to see what Classic rock served with a smile really means. Now I know! These guys thoroughly enjoy what they do and they do it well. Their enthusiasm shines through. The sound is well rounded what with Bass, two guitars and keyboard to boot.

The audience also enjoyed their show too with rapturous applause and cheering at all the right places!
A music fan, Sun 30th Sep 07
Reply from Electric Landlady: Nice to know that our sound is as well rounded as I am! Glad you enjoyed the show. Cheers, Ian. P.S. Pics of the night are online on our website
