The band have acquired a 1960s red Routemaster bus, in which they intend to transport themselves, their equipment, and Una Stubbs, on a terryfing tour of the Home Counties. It is, perhaps, fitting that The Summer Holiday Tour should start at Broxbourne, just down the road from Sir Cliff's childhood home in Cheshunt. | |

| The Nag's Head Dunstable | |
| note: 8.30-10.30 only The Moose return to their spiritual home at the noted Bedfordshire hostelry this Saturday. The Nag's Head Hotel, situated in the delightful olde worlde quarter of Dunstable, was the very first venue to host the Moose Travelling Show back in 1966. The concert hall is renowned for being the most roadie-unfriendly in the county and the spectacle of RoadMoose valiantly ferrying equipment down the winding alleyways has fast become a popular spectator sport and tourist attraction. Due to a local curfew imposed by the city elders, the performance will start at 8.30pm, concluding with The National Anthem and Rule Britannia in full costume at 10.30pm prompt. This event has been arranged as a warm-up to the Hotter Than Julie tour, which commences on Friday 2 July at The Crown, Aston End, Stevenage. | |

| The Moose celebrate the vernal equinox* with a pagan ritual at Offley, featuring sun worship and the slaughter of small furry animals. The sacrifice of a virgin has had to be abandoned for obvious reasons. The band will be adorned in their ceremonial druid robes and preparations are underway for the construction of a full-size replica of Stonehenge to be fashioned from corn flake packets and errcted on on the cricket pitch. *Equinox: The time of year when the day is equally as depressing and boring as the night. | |

| The Dun Cow Stevenage | |
| The 2008 Year of The Moose celebrations went so well that the band have decided to extend the event to include a third concert. At this venue the repertoire of Chinese Folk Songs will been expanded to include these works suggested by Mr Paul Starling, Secretary of the Cornish Branch of the MooseMates Appreciation Society: Wok Around the Clock; Minging in the Rain; Bejing on a Sunny Afternoon; Woo's Sorry Mao/Mao, He's Making Eyes at Me (medley); Won Ton Amera; Samsung Blue; What Kind of Foo Am I?; Canton of the Opera; Another Brick in the Great Wall. | |
| Thu 29 Jan | |
| The Nag's Head Dunstable | |
| The band celebrate the Chinese Year of the Moose [Yes, I know it's The Ox, but they look pretty similar] with another outing to The Nag's. The inaccessibility of the venue will, this time, be celebrated by the spectacle of a fleet of rickshaws ferrying equipment to and from the distant car parks. Selections from the Set Menu will, as usual, incorporate quarter tones whether intentional or not and will be sung in both Mandarin and Cantonese. | |

| Ahoy, me hearties! Avast behind! [Yer not so small yerself!] The Moose are being piped aboard the stage of the Royal Naval Club, Welwyn Garden City for a Christmoose Spectacular. Sailor suits optional. Embarkation at 8 bells. God bless you and all who sail in you. Rehearsals for the HMS Pinafore medley are making good progress. | |
| Thu 11 Dec | |
| The Nag's Head Dunstable | |
| Another Christmoose party! This time a Thursday at the Nag's. The festive repertoire gets another outing. The highlight this time being Rhythm Moose's uncanny recreation [in full costume, make-up and wig] of the Ella Fitzgerald classic Santa Claus Got Stuck Up My Chimney. Snow is forecast. | |
| Sat 6 Dec | |
| The Portland Arms St Albans | |
| The Moose visit Roman Verulamium and The Portland Arms, named in honour of The Duke of Portland, Prime Minister for two short periods from 1783 and 1809. An entry in the Guardian blog says "This is a warm and welcoming back-street community pub. The pub dog is called Buster and is happy to welcome well-behaved woofers." They serve three Fullers' ales. Say no more. | |
| Fri 28 Nov | |
| The Sailor Hitchin | |
| The Moose continue with their nautical theme for November and December with a Friday night at The Sailor in Hitchin. An upcoming venue soon to be the live music capital of North Hertfordshire. The band will be piped aboard at 9pm to a chorus of Rule Britannia and will play Abide with Me as the ship goes down. | |

| Luton Rugby Club Luton | |
| The Moose Live at The Marquee! [i.e. the marquee attached to the rugby club]. Ably supported not only by ace party band Scandal but also by supergroup Happy as Larry - reunited specially for the occasion. This is a fund-raising event for the Luton RFC Under 16 tour to France and Spain in 2009. Tickets are like gold dust but can be obtained by emailing baz@ukart.com. Children welcome. PLEASE NOTE The Moose open the proceedings - so get there EARLY! | |

| The Nag's Head Dunstable | |
| The selection of Croatian folk songs, aired by the Moose to celebrate Theo Walcott's coming of age, went down so well that they have been asked to repeat the performance. | |
| Sat 1 Nov | |
| The Dun Cow Stevenage | |
| The Moose ventures far from Luton to a splendid little pub in deepest Hertfordshire. According to legend, The Dun Cow' was a savage beast slain by Guy of Warwick. It is more likely, however, an allegory for his removal of the Danes from their settlement near Warwick. Looks like Viking helmets are the order of the day. Early start because of prompt 11pm finish. | |
| Sat 18 Oct | |
| Offley Recreation Centre Hitchin | |
| The Moose return in triumph [no, not in a Triumph Herald] to The Offley Bikers' shindig at The Offley Social Club in, strangely, Offley [and it is very strange there]. Club open as usual to non-bikers and our huge army of devoted fans and creditors. | |
| Wed 10 Sep | |
| The Nag's Head Dunstable | |
| By popular request, the Mooses make their triumphant return to Barnstable. The world's most roadie-unfriendly venue which also has a wonderfully Alice in Wonderland approach to customer service. Smoking is, of course, not allowed inside the pub, but drinking is not allowed outside. Book your place now - straddling the doorway, with a cigarette in one hand and a pint in the other. | |
| Sat 6 Sep | |
| The New Greyhound Dunstable | |
| After much soul-searching and running around like headless beavers, the Mooses discovered that their long-lost cousin, Moosetache, was living a short van-ride south of Luton. Moosetache had been working in the pit orchestra at the Muppet Theatre in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan but had secretly flown to England to escape the authorities after an ugly incident with Dr Bunsen Honeydew and Camilla the Chicken. 'Tache, a.k.a. Deep Purple Moose, learned to play the drums whilst waiting for a bus in Berkhamsted and is currently being rehabilitated at the Luton log cabin, in preparation for release back into society at The New Greyhound public house on 6 September. | |

| A charity gig on behalf of the Macmillan fund. It will follow the annual pub football challenge between the Cricketers Arms and the Holly Bush public houses. The gig is open to all who would like to come and support an extremely deserving cause and at the same time enjoy good beer and food provided by Brian & Jean at the Holly Bush, Church End, Redbourn AL3 7DU and great entertainment by Bedfordshire's own premier Canadian ex-pats band, otherwise known as "Moose on the Loose"! Band will play from approx 7.45 to 9pm, but get there early to grab the best vantage points. | |
