Hit 'n' Run[Covers 60s - present, Duo]
Get the Flash Player to see these images.
Hit'n'Run are a well-established duo, who do not use backing tracks. Everything you hear is played by them. The brilliant Chris plays keyboards, saxes, flute, harmonica and an extraordinary wind instrument called a Yamaha WX7, which has to be seen to be believed! The act is very lively and entertaining, and they are always asked back once they have appeared at a venue! Their set list includes many well-known songs that are not often heard these days. Tony plays electronic percussion and is a top singer. They have both toured extensively with name acts. In many years of working together, they have built up a big following, and most gigs have some supporters present. E mail us to receive an up-to-date gig list. See you at a gig soon.

Duo Plus, Plus, Plus The Horns, Watford on Sun 30th Dec 07
Went into the Horns at half-time Sunday afternoon session. Saw the dreaded words 'Duo' but ordered a drink anyway - the stage full with gear looked interesting. When the band came back on they cracked straight into the covers. Not just imitations of the originals - in my opinion much, much better. Particularly Sweet Dreams, Ventura Highway, Call Me Al - brilliant. Also great swing numbers from the 40's, up to present day hits. Tony on 'drums' sings anything well. Chris on keyboards and vocals also juggles flute, alto and soprano saxes, harp and an electronic wind instrument. They played complex arrangements with much enthusiasm. This lively band is a must-see. Not so much a duo - more like two one-man orchestras. Fantastically talented guys. They have plenty of gigs booked so look them up - enjoyment guaranteed!

Reply from Hit 'n' Run: Hi Derek, I have just read your review, and we are very flattered by your comments! We will be back at The Horns again during 2008, so please look us up again, and make yourself known to us next time you are at one of our gigs. We love this venue, and we always look forward to playing for Denis, who is incidentally one of the hardest working guys we play for.

Good Night Out The White Bear, Broxbourne on Sat 25th Aug 07
A very good night out - a good band playing excellent music and looking as if they were enjoying it as much as the crowd, and believe you me they were certainly having a good time judging by the amount of people on the dance floor. This was my first gig with this band but it won't be the last. Roll on November.

Reply from Hit 'n' Run: Thanks for your kind comments. This is a very good and lively venue, and we are looking forward to returning again in November. Bring your friends next time!!
Such charisma! Royal British Legion Club, East Barnet on Sat 4th Aug 07
Well, Keith and I didn't know what to expect but wanted to see some live music so off we went to East Barnet.
What can I say. Two very talented, versatile musicians, clearly doing what they loved, entertaining the customers at this British Legion.
They have a very large repertoire of songs which they tailor to their venues and which also allows them to show their skills in arranging and playing instruments.
Great gig and will see them again soon!

Still 'Holding back the years' The Crown, Stevenage on Fri 1st Jun 07
Having not seen Hit'n'Run for about 8 or 9 years, I wasn't sure how they would have changed! Would they still have that same warmth with their audience, the humour, the energy and the passion?
When they started playing, they were better than ever! They played a wide range of songs, old and new, all of which we enjoyed. The audience were buzzing and by the second half, had got up dancing!
It is clear that Tony and Chris enjoy what they do, and that comes out in their music and rubs off on their audience!
Tony's voice was exceptional, he really has got a fantastic range. Chris's talent still amazes me... that man can pick up any instrument and play it to perfection. He is a pure genius of a musician!
| Mary Webb, Sat 23rd Jun 07 | |
Reply from Hit 'n' Run: Hey Mary, how nice it was to see you again after all these years. Chris and I are still at it, and still enjoying it as much as ever. It makes it more worth while when we read nice comments about us! I hope more people read this, and come along to see what all the fuss is about! Thanks again
