He has survived all trends in comedy and music and remains one of Britain's most unique entertainers performing his songs, rhymes and stories like nobody else. Others may tell stories and play guitar but they probably haven't performed with Steve Martin and Robin Williams or played guitar with Brian May of Queen, Status Quo or Joni Mitchell and probably supporting more acts than anyone else in the World; Steeleye Span, David Essex, Supertramp, Elkie Brooks, Joan Armatrading, Cat Stevens, Jethro Tull, Jim Davidson, Chas n Dave, The Allman Brothers and Cher, Roy Orbison, Tom Jones, Mike Oldfield and The Beach Boys His TV specials for ITV ran for a record 11 years and on these shows he played guitar with Brian May, Status Quo, The Moody Blues, Buffy St Marie, Marc Cohn who wrote Walking in Memphis, Chris de Burgh, Juan Martin and Elkie Brooks. | | Bill Sheffield & Dave Saunders The big bluesman from Atlanta, Georgia makes a welcome return to Europe to promote his superb new album 'Got a gig, got to go' - every gig is different - you never know what he's going to play next, many people come to several gigs to hear as much of Bill as possible ! Expect everything from Hank Williams through Robert Johnson, Blind Willie McTell, Broonzy, even REM, all mixed in with his brilliant self-written songs about his own quirky and humourous observations on life! "Bill Sheffield takes the stage unpretentiously, cradling a vintage Gibson Acoustic or his trusted Martin OM. At first he appears almost shy, his eyes scanning the room, making connections. He slowly starts into his own rendition of an old blues classic, maybe Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters or Blind Blake. Before long Bill takes control of the stage, captivating the audience. Combining a finger picking style that rolls over you like a freight train with his electrifying and dazzling guitar work. There is no denying it, Bill Sheffield is a master of the Blues and a true master of the guitar. He exudes the personality of the songs he sings playing every song from the heart. The minute you hear him you know.........." 8.30pm - 11.30pm adv £10.00 |

| | Blues Brothers Banned (2) The Blues Brothers Banned's delivery is original and different from other tribute acts in that they play all the classics from the Blues Brothers (and Commitments) films but link them with more recent songs - like their own version of TVs Scrubs theme, Reef's Place your Hands or a few bars from the Borat movie. As well as playing R&B and soul there's an element of ska, reggae and the odd rap thrown in. Because of this fusion of old and new and their sheer energy they appeal to a wide range of ages - are popular with students and for parties. The Banned have played theatres and music venues all over the country including The Edinburgh Fringe Festival where they have sold out for two years running. A full fun filled 2 hour show of the best film soundtracks ever! 8.30pm - 11pm adv £10.00 |

| | Lisa Mills & Ian Jennings Lisa Mills from Mobile Alabama is an exceptional singer and songwriter singing in Janis Joplins first band 'Big Brother and the Holding Company' after Janis' demise performing all of the Janis Joplin parts, while given the freedom to give her own interpretation of the music. She toured with BBHC for three years throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. She has been compared to Etta James, Billie Holiday and Brenda Lee but her main comparison is an extraordinary vocal similarity to Bonnie Raitt. Led Zeppelins Robert Plant found her and had no hesitation in asking her to open his American stadium shows - they have performed on the same bills across the US and Europe. Lisa also appeared with Dr John on his UK tour last October and, although she has played in front of more than 40,000 people Lisa admits to liking it best when she can connect with her audience. Accompanied by Ian Jennings of Big Town Playboys/Jeff Beck/Van Morrison/Eric Clapton fame on upright Bass we are all in for a treat! Take Robert Plants advice 'You should all check her out - she has a wonderful voice'. 8.30pm - 11pm adv £8.00 |

|
| Print 3 flyers per A4 page, with marked cutting guides. Hint: setting your start date to the first of a month, and your end date to the last day of a month, gives a neat heading on your flyer, e.g. setting 1 May 2008 and 31 Aug 2008 as the start and end dates will produce the heading: 'MAY - AUGUST 08'. Try it! You can also set the font size to a decimal value (e.g. 9.3) to make the gigs fit exactly onto the page. | |
