Top Night With The Reoffenders The Reoffenders on Sat 20th Jan 07
Last time we played here (we being The Sex Pistols Experience) it was a great night in a great venue so I was already buzzin'.
Mostly we have a support band where ever we play, some good, some bad but tonight was the big exception as we had the pleasure to be supported by 'The Reoffenders'.
'New Rose' started the set - yes a punk cover band who did 'em their way and very very well I might add.
It's unusual for all four members of our band to watch the whole set of the support band but we got into it as much as the crowd did, great musicians doing great songs from a great era in music. 'Blondie', 'SLF', 'Stranglers', 'Rezillos' and even queen of the punks Brittney Spears (lol!) yes a great rendition of 'Toxic' was thrown in there with a bit more added bo**ocks!
They also look great onstage, never a dull moment, masters of crowd attention keeping which is key in this business. If they play near you you gotta go see 'em, make the time, it's worth it!

er....The Reoffenders at The Hub The Reoffenders on Sat 19th Aug 06
This was a great night! Zero Consent from Southampton kicked the evening off and played a blinder despite the notoriously tardy Plymouth crowd not being there yet. What is it with Plymouth? Get there earlier for God's sake!
Well, The Hub was filling up nicely once the Reoffenders came on. A huge tour of Cornwall had left them tighter than a very tight thing (musically speaking) and they had the joint bouncing with their punked up punk covers in a kind of punk rock stylee!
Highlights for me were Cheap Trick's "I Want You To Want Me" and The Toy Dolls "Dig That Groove". Nena's "99 Red Balloons" was wonderful too. (Actually, it's not Nena's anymore, it's The Reoffenders' song. If she wants it back she's going to have to come over here and ask them for it! - Say No!)
Too Hot played after The Reoffenders at which point the world exploded...... whoosh!
Excellent gig! | |

Reply from The Reoffenders: We wanna do it again! Again! Again! Again!
Great night at the Hub, our first in Plymouth but not the last. We're already looking at returning to the Hub in January to support The Sex Pistols Experience.
Twas a great end to our Cornish Tour. Cheers to Too Hot for asking us to support :-)
Jumpin! Too Hot on Sat 19th Aug 06
I challenge anyone to stand still when Too Hot are playing! They are the best band in the area for me! I used to always say that I don't like Ska - it looks like I have to review that.
I like my comfort zone... familiar songs to sing along to. But Too Hot are a breath of fresh air that play original material with a real strong stage presence which commands your attention. Every song is so infectious and you dance your socks off.
This is the second time I've seen them. The first time I saw them, I heard them soundcheck "If I Could" which they played later in the set. 4 days later when I couldn't get it out of my head, I succumbed and ordered the "Time Flies" CD.
If you haven't seen them before... do it, you owe it to yourself!

powerful and precise Led Zep Too on Fri 11th Aug 06
If you missed this, you missed out. Band started at half 9 on the dot and played a full 3 and a half hours without a break. All the Zep classics covered and even a few that are not as well known. This also included a 10 minute Jon Bonham-esque drum solo firstly with sticks then with hands. And also an incredible solo piece from Martin (Jimmy Page- this guy looks so much like him!) during Whole Lotta Love with a funky Wah box on a pole(Thank God I caught a bit of it on my vid phone). Olli, your voice pierced my eardrums just like Robert Plant did when I heard my first Zep song and I love it. Mr John Paul on the Bass and Ivory keys played his heart out and kept the rhythm with the drums (difficult I know) perfectly. Many thanks to Glen (Bonham), who stopped to have a chat after the gig and signed a poster and drumstick for me. Keep up the good work sir. Thank you for your words of wisdom for myself and the other aspiring musicians that were there. Your sound is by far the most powerful and precise of all the Zep tributes I've seen.

Reply from Led Zep Too: Why thank you very much.
One tiny correction Mike on guitars rather than Martin.
BTW the funky wah box on a pole is called a "Theramin" after its Russian inventor. check it out on Wiki sometime its an interesting story.

| Print Flyers | |
|
|
|
| Print 3 flyers per A4 page, with marked cutting guides. Hint: setting your start date to the first of a month, and your end date to the last day of a month, gives a neat heading on your flyer, e.g. setting 1 May 2008 and 31 Aug 2008 as the start and end dates will produce the heading: 'MAY - AUGUST 08'. Try it! You can also set the font size to a decimal value (e.g. 9.3) to make the gigs fit exactly onto the page. | |
