Jamm, the latest addition to Brixton's burgeoning club scene, officially opened for business on Friday February 18 with a party staged by internationally renowned South London duo Basement Jaxx.
From the days of the old White Horse staging punk gigs by The Clash to its more recent incarnation as a successful salsa club, the venue has always enjoyed a special place in the heart of Brixton. Over the past 18 months the venue has changed tack again and now takes in the full spectrum of the local entertainment scene from metal and indie to house, techno and drum and bass.
As well as top music names, the venue's proved its versatility by providing a platform for all manner of other cultural events too, from Egyptian belly dancing to Arts Council-funded exhibitions, and consciousness-raising events for a plethora of pressure groups from charity fundraisers to political meetings.
Forthcoming acts (1 of 1 total): Sat 1st Nov: The Eloquents |
