Best Rock cover band ever! XLR on Sat 23rd Jun 07
XLR's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. I went to see XLR as a last minute option when the band I had intended to see was cancelled. But, ohmigod!...I was not at all dissappointed!

I was so glad the other band didn't play or I may never have been introduced to what I now perceive as the best rock covers band I have ever seen! Since my first 'accidental' gig, I have been purposely to two more, enthusiastically dragging friends along - who all agree with my first rate opinion of them.

I knew every single song, new and old, and the band gave their all to the whole set. I have truly never heard such a good cover of 'Sweet Child 'O' Mine' in my life, and that's a damn hard song to sing!

I am definitely going to get along to as many gigs that this multi-talented band play as is possible, and look forward to dancing and singing my heart out as I have done previously!

Trust me, they are brilliant!

Turn On... Tune In! The Wireless on Sat 24th Sep 05
The Wireless's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. I don't usually do reviews but felt I had to for The Wireless.

This band stormed through some of the most classic tracks of the last four decades with energy, style and a heap of obvious musicianship. They were quite simply phenomenal!

I am not usually moved by bands who roll out cover after cover but these guys do it different! A four piece unit consisting of Drums and percussion (strange but cool drum set up!) Guitar, Bass and Violin (don't worry, no Folky nonsense here!) The Wireless are a great party band - check them out.

Reply from The Wireless: Cheers Neil, glad you enjoyed it!
Brilliant!!! The Madrips on Sat 3rd Sep 05
The Madrips's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. A fresh new sound from a group of surfers from Constantine near Padstow. Had a brilliant night listening to the Madrips - they have a blend of styles that are hard to pinpoint - a mixture of Reggae, Ska, Classic Rock, Acid Jazz and Funk Hip Hop all blended into one fascinating sound that is hard to describe so the best thing to do is to go and check them out the next time they play!
A music fan, Sat 24th Sep 05
Well worth seeing The Madrips on Sat 3rd Sep 05
The Madrips's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. Read about the gig in the Paper, always like to see bands from out of the area (Plymouth), So many bands claim to be different original bla bla, but the Madrips really are all this, but they didn't claim it!!! They just said their style was "North coast new wave" haha classic, I loved it, you can't help but listen and enjoy it, it's funny and it's happy but it's got a kind of dark edge especially in the lyrics!

Anyway if you've reached this page and wondering if they're worth seeing, do it do it do it! Even the townies were getting down to it!

Please consider the environment before printing this flyer.
Print 3 flyers per A4 page, with marked cutting guides. Hint: setting your start date to the first of a month, and your end date to the last day of a month, gives a neat heading on your flyer, e.g. setting 1 May 2008 and 31 Aug 2008 as the start and end dates will produce the heading: 'MAY - AUGUST 08'. Try it! You can also set the font size to a decimal value (e.g. 9.3) to make the gigs fit exactly onto the page.
