100% Rock! Zephyr Bar, Exeter on Fri 29th Feb 08
These guys look like a rock band and play like a rock band, nice 'n' loud. I walked into Zephyr's just as the melodic tones of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" filled the room. A thunderous applause for the guitar player at the end of the song after a note perfect solo! The rest of the night just got better and better, climaxing with Led Zep's "Rock n Roll" and an awesome version of the Foo Fighters' "Pretender". If you haven't seen this band yet, go and see them, you won't be disappointed.
| Andy, Sat 1st Mar 08 | |
Reply from K2: Cheers for your review Andy and being there on the night. It was a really fun gig to play and a great atmosphere at the venue!
Hope to see you at the next one.
Future looking good! The Village Inn, Exeter on Sat 31st Mar 07
K2 gave the waiting audience a glimpse of things to come when they let their new vocalist sing virtually the whole first set, and after seeing the band a number of times around Exeter, I have to say that things are looking great for the band.
The new singer looks the part and certainly has the voice to carry songs like "Here I Go Again", "Sweet Emotion" and a lot of the rockier numbers. Cant wait to see what new songs get included in the future to test his vocal range but sure he's going be a great addition to the band.
It was good to see Andy come back for the second set. I'm sure he'll be missed when he finally hangs up his microphone.
"Jump around" was once again brilliant for getting what had been a slightly reserved audience on their feet. I come along just to see you guys perform it!
Keep up the good work, look forward to seeing your first full gig with the new boy!
| Jon Clarke, Sun 14th Oct 07 | |
Reply from K2: Thanks for the review Jon, appreciate you taking the time to do so.
We are working really hard at the moment at updating the set but firstly getting anthony (our new singer) up and running with the current list of songs.
Hope to see you at the next gigs.
Cheers, K2 | |
Fantastic Yet Again! The Crawford, Exeter on Sat 20th Jan 07
I have seen K2 a few times now, mainly in the venues in Exeter. I've always loved the way they play all the classic songs that even I remember but also branch into quite a bit of the modern era with the Foo Fighters and Kaiser Chiefs etc, but I must say that this was one of their best gigs I've seen.
It was probably helped by a good venue - not that I've ever been to the Crawford before - but there was a really good vibe and EVERYONE seemed to really enjoy what was a great evening's entertainment.
To those of you who are yet to see this band, I would say "You've just got to go" - they're a very accomplished 5 piece band that plays something for everybody be it if you're 17 or 70, and it's very different to see musicians varying their instruments and trying something different (like what was your encore tonight).
The lead guitarist and drummer played to such a high standard. The vocalist managed to sing such a range and with the backing vocals cutting through really gives a depth to so many songs that you just don't see any more.
The light show and sound mix is about as good as you get on the pub scene which is a credit to whoever sets that up for you.
P.S. Just thought I'd mention it's taken me a couple gigs to get it but your cover of "Summer Time Blues" by Eddie Cochran?... well let's just say more like this please (surprisingly different) and 100 times better then the original!

Reply from K2: Wow! Now that's what I call a review. It's good to get feedback from people after a gig, it means a whole lot more when they take the time to tell us via a review.
Really glad you enjoyed it, we did too! It was a good vibe at the crawford and always is. Look forward to seeing you at one of our future gigs!
Cheers K2 | |
Great Night The Village Inn, Exeter on Fri 8th Dec 06
Just had to say how much I enjoyed watching K2... Excellent musicianship from all 5 members, fantastic sound and a very impressive light show made for a great night's entertainment.
Aerosmith's Sweet Emotion was a very pleasant surprise and their covers of Pink Floyd were performed brilliantly. There was a good mix of old and new songs with some superb guitar solos, powerful vocals and a rhythm section as tight as you like.
If you are a landlord... book them. If you are a fan of good and loud rock music, then check them out, you will not be disappointed.

| [Tue 25th Mar 08] (From Kelly : gig at The Crawford Hotel, Exeter on 22 March 2008) : That has to be the best gig I have ever seen you do! A cover of 'comfortably numb' that gave me goose bumps, and the foo fighters' 'pretender' was absolutely amazing! You cover such a wide variety of music that there's something for everyone, and all performed to such a high standard! The chemistry you guys have on stage is something that everyone HAS to see! The atmosphere in the pub was brilliant, everyone had a great time and plenty of people were dancing away. You are by far my favourite live band and I'll certainly be coming back for more! - Kelly | Reply from K2: Thanks Kelly, from the feedback we've had it does seem to have been the best gig we've played in a long time, we really appreciate your great comments and continued support! Hope to see you again soon | | [Mon 24th Mar 08] (From Elaine : gig at The Crawford Hotel, Exeter on 22 March 2008) : Just got home from seeing you guys tonight at The Crawford - and the word that springs to mind is "awesome" ! I loved that you played a song by the Bodyrockers - that was a real treat - I want to hear more! I am also a fan of Foo Fighters. The music was varied and the sound brilliant. You were FAVOLOSO!... and for those who know no Italian - that means - FABULOUS/WONDERFUL! I look forward to seeing you again. - Elaine | Reply from K2: Thanks for the great review Elaine and coming along the other night, we really enjoyed it and it was good to see everyone else enjoying it too. Hope to see you at the next one. K2 | | [Tue 26th Feb 08] (From Steve Bransdon : gig at The Globe, Exeter on 23 February 2008) : Fantastic gig guys, it was a bit of a small pub but thought the sets you played were great and really enjoyed all the different covers you did especially the slightly faster/heavier song you had in there, you seem to be really tight on it all. You made my weekend. Loved to let my hair down to your set and hope to see you guys around again. Ever thought of the bike festivals etc? Would be a great gig for your type of music! - Steve Bransdon | Reply from K2: Cheers for the comments Steve, we really appreciate you taking the time to message us. We'd love to play at the bike festival if we could find a way in. Hope to see you again at another gig! | |
