Acoustic open mic/jam session hosted by Kaye Turner at de Tracey's Restaurant in Bovey Tracey.
Every other Sunday.
Generally a great variety of musos turn up and a bunch of surprises as well: fiddle, guitar, piano, bass in all sorts of styles depending on who turns up. What you can't miss is the 5 string electric fiddle - yes 5 string!!!!
All folks welcome, all styles welcome just get up here.
We provide the PA mics etc you provide the talent.
The venue is a restaurant/bar so save on washing up and eat here.
Great hosts: Stewart and Lorraine guaranteed to spill the beer to the fiddle solos. | |

Great evening... Sunday 17th June
Great evening - plenty of musos turn up. After Brian had fixed the PA with help from a Stuart screwdriver.
Loads of variety from Kaye, Ken, Simon, Mel(electric violin) and (Kaye'll help me out here in a min)(guitar).
Ben, the resident violin virtuoso provided some fantastic foot-tappin solos with his electric 5 string (yes 5 string) violin - causing Stuart trouble dancing up the stairs with a pint.... he's getting good at it though.
Chris playing some lovely jazz chordwork to Georgia and great voice (nice Guild as well).
Mike(rousing vocal and guitar), Colin(bass), John(you want mandolin with that) and Ben(electric violin) providing an off the cuff rousing bluegrassy effect which went down a storm.
Bilbo(guitar and hihat), Dave(piano/guitar), Kaye, Colin(Bass), Ben(on the fiddle!) and Brian in various formats from Jethro Tull to Van Morrison .
... and Lorraine joining in at the end.
Great to see some new faces and some great ad hoc combinations of musos.
More in two weeks. I'm sure I've forgotten some folks - Kaye'll help remind me and I'll update. | |

| Dave Rich Band |
|---|
 Kaye was formerly a singer with the Dave Rich Band clocking up 60 gigs, several radio shows and a tour of the UK, taking in Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Birmingham and several festivals including Salcombe, Kingsbridge, Bovey Tracey and Lowender.
Today the Dave Rich Band is three young blokes and Brian.
Brian has been with the Dave Rich Band since 2004 as lead guitarist.(2) |
