Miss This - Miss Out! The Crawford, Exeter on Sat 16th Feb 08
The Crawford's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. I finally made it to see Kiss This!, at last!, and they lived up to their great reputation and more. The Crawford was heaving and every person I saw there was having a brilliant time.

This band entertain and perform to a very high standard and every number they played went down a storm with the crowd.

It's difficult to pick out any particular songs because everyone will have their favourites but I loved the way Ian sang "I Don't Like Mondays" - which was a stunning contrast to end the first set; "Eighth Day" - Tanya would have had a standing ovation if it wasn't that most of the crowd were already standing anyway! "Parklife" brought both lead singers out on the floor, was great fun and grooved as it should - and last but no means least - "Mr Blue Sky" - which was nothing short of artistic genius.

Every member of this band (Andrew on drums, Ady on bass and... who's that guy on guitar?.....let me think... XX) made this a very special night and no doubt all their other gigs are of the same high quality.

Don't miss Kiss This! You have been warned!

P.S. The beer wasn't bad either! :-)

Reply from Kiss This!: Lyn...you star!! What a fantastic review, please stop people will talk :o) Actually several band members asked who the Super Model was, that came up and gave me a hug during the break. It really was nice of you to travel all the way down to see us. I'm looking forward to seeing your new 80's band when they are up and running Cheers KT PS was that you loading 14 crates of beer into your car for your nightcap?
Loadsa good work for charity mate Exeter Cathedral, Exeter on Fri 16th Nov 07
Exeter Cathedral's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. I had the pleasure of checking out Kiss This for the first time at Exeter Cathedral. Hats off to the sound guys for providing great sound in a difficult but awesome setting.

The band began the evening as backing to Johnny Dean whose arrival on stage was superb, a "wild thing" he certainly is/ was tiz woz!. He blasted his way through the set with tons of energy and really got the crowd going.

An then on came the headline act Kiss This and blew me away with a great set of hits, performed with absolute precision. With a tight rhythm section and great keys and guitar the band provided the perfect platform for a fantastic vocal performance. The two voices really complemented each other, and both delivered powerfully, with presence and full of energy, and got the place bouncing. The crowd loving hits by Queen, Elton John, Blur, Madness and many more the dance floor filled and stayed full.

There was a fantastic atmosphere about the place, everyone had a great time raising a huge amount of money for a very worthy cause (Children in Need). Let's hope we don't have to wait another 1000 years to get Exeter Cathedral rocking again!

Marnie were great too!

Exeter Cathedral, Exeter on Fri 16th Nov 07
Exeter Cathedral's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. Marnie started the night with an excellent set. The cathedral suited the acoustic guitar and her powerful voice as if it had been built for them.

Then comes the dean, worth the admission price on its own. If only all front men had as much drive and energy on stage. An accomplished performance for a man well out of his "comfort zone".

Then the finale: KISS THIS. I doubt the cathedral has ever witnessed such a sight in its 1000 years. The sound man did an excellent job balancing everything in what must have been a nightmare venue for him.

Three songs in, the dancing is started by no other than "Johnny Dean" and for the rest of the gig the aisle and center of the cathedral is packed with as an eclectic mix of dancers as you will ever see; bikers and parishioners dancing side by side!

An awesome performance that can hopefully be repeated as it raised money for a good cause and could grow year on year.

Reply from Kiss This!: Hi Rog Many thanks for the revue, the atmosphere was electric! What a great night, lets hope it can happen again, bigger and even better. KT.
What a Night! The Crawford, Exeter on Sat 7th Jul 07
The Crawford's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. I've recently started popping over to The Crawford on a Saturday night to see what the live music is like there these days. Well, having seen quite a few bands there now, nothing comes close to these guys!

This simply has to be one of the best night's entertainment I've seen in a long time. From the moment they started, the pub was jumping - a bunch of fantastic songs (which everyone could sing along to), played extremely well with a high level of enthusiasm. Every song they played brought a wide grin to my face and I just couldn't keep still all night. Their intro to Echo Beach was something that will stick in my mind for a long time to come (what a laugh!).

Come back soon guys, you really know how to turn a quiet pub into a party zone. I'll be heading over to The Black Horse in July - make no mistake!

[Sun 11th May 08]   Steaming at the Blackie! Phew, that was a hot one!!!

Hi folks. Well, Saturday night looked like it was going to be a flop, as people basked in the sunshine, dusted down their BBQ's & generally seemed to shun the middle of Exeter on such a sultry evening (well come on, let's face it - who wouldn't?).

Well lots of people actually. We were flaberghasted by the turnout last night & stunned by the livliness & sheer noise of those that made it to The Blackie for our first gig there since New Years Eve, and what a night it was. Absolutely steaming it was in there, and I personally was soaked in sweat by the end of the first set, let alone the end of the second! A few new songs were thrown in & these seemed to go down well, plus some old ones in a very different order, courtesy of the artistic presence of the set list compiler, Mr Hart.

A great night was had by all, especially us. It was good to see our old friends out once more & also to be able to take part in the celebrations of the birthday of a good friend of ours (Happy Birthday Paul - how's the head this morning?).

So, it's away from the pub circuit for a few weeks until we return to Exeter at the end of May at Zephyr's Bar (Friday 30th). See you there or if not - well, we won't then!

[Sat 12th Apr 08] We're still here! Hi folks

OK, so an apology is in order. Yup, we're sorry!!!! We're so very sorry that we've been into hiding for a while but there is good reason. We are very conscious that we've stuck to the same old set list for a while now so we've been knocking out a few new tunes in the studio (believe me, we're EXTREMELY glad to get out of that room - honestly, being stuck in a room that's only 15 foot by 7 with Tanya farting is something to behold!!).

OK, so onwards & upwards. Watch out for some new material at our next gigs - we're on a roll now & are looking forward to kicking off the Spring/Summer period with some fresh songs.

Catch you soon folks

[Sun 17th Feb 08] Blimey, nights like that are g... Blimey, nights like that are gonna be the end of me!!!

Well, that's one way to warm yourself up on a cold winter's night! Yup, it was back to The Crawford last night for a welcome return to one of our favourite venues. It was great to see our good friends out in force & boy the place didn't disappoint, I can tell you. It may have been freezing outside but the temperature was red hot inside & we had an amazing time all evening. Hey, we even remembered the ending to I'm A Believer (now there's a first!).

Seriously though, it was without doubt one of the best nights we've ever had. Can't wait to get back there again.

So next weekend it's "over to The Coaver" for a gig in the bar, complete with cholocate (according to Trout anyway!). Hope to see you there guys as it will be our last public gig for a month (come on, even we need time off now and again!).

(click for larger picture)[Sun 20th Jan 08] Morning Folks! Well 2008 has ... Morning Folks!

Well 2008 has only just begun but so far we're not disappointed at all. Last week we headed over the water to Exmouth, back to our old friend The Phoenix. It was great to see some familiar faces back again, along with some new ones too, and indeed to get back into the playing habit. We achieved yet another first at this gig, playing "Row Row Row Your Boat" for a 1 year old - there, how's that for your CV eh!!!

Last night saw us back in Exeter at The Longbrooke in Cowick Street. It's been a while since we've played there (actually it was BOTB in August last year) and I have to say we had a welcomed return. The pub was heaving, the temperature resembled that of an oven set to gas mark 6 & I don't think I've ever heard such a wonderful rendition of the opening bars to "Don't Stop Me Now" - the pub was literally singing as one! A massive thanks must go to Shane for his mopping up in the first set (no, I didn't soil myself - I spilt a pint of water all over the floor) - cheers matey!

Anyhow, onwards & upwards. Come & join us next weekend at The Thirsty Farmer in Whimple - should be a good 'un!
