wow what a band! Dave Can't Dance on Fri 28th Mar 08
Dave Can't Dance's pageReview NOT edited by Lemonrock - original text Wow, we had heard that Dave cant dance were good, but were not prepared for what we heard and saw.

We had enquired to hiring the band for our wedding upon recomendation from friends,so thought we'd better check them out for ourselves first! (they're booked)

The first set had the crowd roaring with delight- one hour and ten minutes of pumping classics like -Get up off that thing(James Brown), stevie wonders I wish and Filthy gorgeous and even a blistering rendition of Jimi Hendrix's Fire.

The second set included classic disco tunes such as:Disco Inferno ,Le Freak, Lost in music and carwash all played at an incredable tempo- the lads didn't falter once even with two foot wide Afro wigs on.

In conclusion, we came, we saw, we booked , we bought the t-shirts a stunning overall performance from one of the best bands we have seen!!see you again soon,

I Predict A Riot! Scared Stiff ! on Sat 16th Feb 08
Scared Stiff !'s pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. The Lansdowne Hotel was obviously THE place to go in Dawlish. Who can blame them when you had such an excellent band to entertain them!

There was much friendly banter between the band and the enthusiastic spectators and many people were up and dancing and really enjoying themselves.

It was the first public performance of the Kaiser Chief's "I Predict A Riot!" (and Paul, on keyboards, wore a "Peanut" hat to get everyone in the mood!) It went down really well with everyone watching and I'm sure that it will become a firm favourite in their repertoire.

Audius Maximus's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. If you only get to see one band this year I really would recommend you make it this one. Their enthusiasm and love for the music they play is infectious. Their mix of songs will appeal to most - I defy anyone who sees them to not end up singing along before the evening is through. From Thin Lizzy to Whitesnake, they performed brilliantly. "Whole Lotta Rosie" got this slightly aging rock chick(!) head banging again :-)

That's entertainment The BobKatZ on Sat 8th Dec 07
The BobKatZ's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. I went to the Lansdowne because someone told me the Buzzcocks were playing... of course, this was not the Buzzcocks but a band with the same kind of vibrancy and connection. It is great to see a guitarist looking as if he is enjoying himself... have you noticed that bands always seem to stick with the same stage layout... I wish one day someone would put the drummer out the front... after all the drummer often holds the band together and the guitar guys often look around to check when to end the song. Anyway these guys did manage to swap beards in mid song which added a bit of variation. [We suspect this may be subject to opinion - Ed]

If you want to have a good night out give these guys a whirl, but don't be restricted by the traditional restraint that is characteristic of this sceptered Isle. Pogoing may be considered anachronistic but it is very good for the figure. My only reservation is that they finished up with the old Sex Pistols' number "God Save the Queen" followed by Greenday's "American Idiot", both of which satirise modern politics in a negative context... it is depressing to consider how out of touch our politicians are... thank god for rock and roll and punk.

Give the BobKatZ a whirl... sadly like many other rockers Lee Brillaux is no longer with us... but this band carries on the tradition.

Try it! You can also set the font size to a decimal value (e.g. 9.3) to make the gigs fit exactly onto the page.
