An open air gig.... BandX on Fri 11th Aug 06

Despite the earlier promise, I realised when the rain fell on my car windscreen that it was not to be. Even so, indoors, BandX did their usual brilliant set. The pub was a bit quieter than usual, probably to do with the summer hols, but they still belted out a string of great classic rock numbers and included a few new songs - something that keeps this band sounding fresh no matter how many times you see them.
For anyone out there wondering whether to go and see BandX let me tell you that I had the choice of seeing BandX or watching The Hamsters do a Hendrix & ZZ Top set on the same night. I may have been mad to travel 45 miles to see BandX instead but I wasn't disappointed! I come off my medication next week.
And in the words of the great Phil Lynott...."Until the next time....cos there's always a next time..."

BandX's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. The Marlborough Head is a great venue, with a good crowd, the band were squeezed into a fairly tight space... tho maybe the size of the drum kit has something to do with that!

Band-X are great! Combining some great well known rock classics with lesser known rocking tunes, and some modern stuff from the likes of Audioslave and Maroon 5 (harder to breathe.... I just hope the bass player doesn't hyperventillate!!) and even a great blues number with some fantastic guitar work! Something for everyone; there were even people up dancing although I have to say some of the head-banging was a little suspect!

Look out for these guys, you won't be disappointed!
