Still working as hard as ever to deliver quality goods, Matt has a lot to live up to. From appearances on 'Top of the Pops' , to Live Radio, to Theatre and Cabaret work, here is a veteran of the music world. Able to deliver strong cover songs and originals from his albums, acoustic to orchestral, electric to solo voice, you'll find yourself spoilt for choice.
Based in the Westcountry for the last 20 years, Matt has built a solid quality reputation, supported by his peers and fans. With a lived-in voice and a winning way with metaphor, Matt plies his trade with the confidence of a professional and an ease borne of experience.

 Deserved a bigger audience on Fri 11th Apr 08 | |
 It was such a shame that there wasn't a bigger crowd at the Twisted Oak last night to watch you play. I have to say that I have not heard of you before but loved your performance. We only wish you were back at the Twisted Oak next saturday when we have a big party booked there and I know for sure they would have all been getting up and joining in and what a ball we would all of had.
Have told friends about your music already and can't wait to see you again sometime.
Thank you for making our quiet evening of a glass of wine and meal very entertaining.

 My wife and I saw Matt at the Pilot in Exmouth we were both impressed, but when he did a Bryan Adams number, that was it! Liz said "we've got to book him for the Legion" so we did!
I wasn't sure how well the night would go as we have a mix of young and... more senior people! and that night a lot of the younger ones were not in. Sorry Matt I underestimated you! Matt adapted his show so well that everyone had a brilliant night. He is a real pro, with a fantastic talent, not to be missed, thanks for a great night out! | |

| Reply from Matthew Finnish: It's an interesting fact that a lot of artists, musicians, actors etc can go unnoticed for most of their lives and the only thing that keeps them going is the passion they have for their art.
I am a little luckier that most with a fan base that will put pen to paper and committ to expressing their views.
Bill ~ you have no idea how much enjoyment I get from 'getting it right on the night'. I look forward to giving you and your family a 'great night out' next time!

| Poignant - but good memories The Dolphin Inn, Kenton on Sat 3rd Jun 06 | |
It was the first time Matt had been back to The Dolphin since Mike and Sue's Wedding on 24th Feb.
Within weeks of the wedding, Mike fell ill and has since passed on. We all miss him and so this evening was a milestone for many of the locals, especially his brave wife, Sue.
Matt played and sang brilliantly and you would not have known that anything was hanging over the evening's performance until the very last song, 'When All I Said And Done' when the voice broke with emotion as the words hit home.
Matt remains a real pro - and you could tell that his heart was with those that were suffering loss. | |

When I walked into the Pilot and heard Matt singing one of my favourite songs, I was pleasantly surprised at the standard - I had to actually look twice because it was so good.
It put me in the good mood for a drink in the pub that evening. | |

If you're a frequenter to the smaller tents at Cross Rhythms' Festivals past you may have seen Matt plying his trade with an acoustic guitar and a gutsy blues rock voice. But Mr Finnish is no fresh faced beginner but a music veteran, who, years back, experienced Top 20 success. Now he offers his debut Christian project and thoroughly engaging it is too. With an eclectic range of styles from retro old time boogie rock on 'Your Will Not Mine' to the Randy Newman-tinged 'Father God'. My favourites are the poignant acoustic ballad 'Wait For Me' and the eerily haunting piece of funky prog rock 'Waterfall'. With an excellent, lived in voice and a superior lyricist's winning way with image and metaphor, this is a record of a man whose faith has been caught in the crucible of pain and trial and whose art has matured and deepened as a result.

By 'eck, you certainly know what you want and how to get it !
From the many requests posted on the website, Matt has put together a 2nd album with your favourites on it. Songs that Matt plays live like 'Summer of 69', 'Dance the Night Away', 'You're the Voice' and 'New York Minute' all appear on this CD.
Along with 4 originals (which will be available on a separate EP and reviewed in national Christian press), this album puts a peg in the ground for Matfin fans.
