Out to Lunch[Blues, 4 piece]
|
The current line up of Out to Lunch decided to launch themselves on to the circuit after several months as house band at the Monday night jam at The Hop Poles in Enfield........The jam no longer takes place, but the band have gone on to enjoy a busy year of gigs. Frontman Chris Hargrave has a CV that shows him playing with the likes of Albert Lee, Charlie Whitney (Family), Rod Demick (Paul Lamb's Kingsnakes), Steve Simpson (Roger Chapman, Chris Farlowe), as well as fronting his own bands both here and abroad....... Sadly, Steve 'cooler than a cool day in Cooltown' Jayes had to vacate the bass chair earlier this year, but the band are thrilled to have the services of mr blues bass Marc Obrich, who's cv warrants an extra page on it's own. Alan Marshall stepped in as dep drummer a few months back and just sort of stayed, which is absolutely fine with the rest of the band. The line up is completed by long time 'Luncher' , guitarist Barry Young.......When Barry hits the opening riff to Stevie Rays Pride and Joy, you know this band are the real deal....and as they move through Texas blues, to R'n'B, to Chicago, topped with a handful of Chris originals, an Out to Lunch gig has something for everyone and then some......
