Pinnacles not on the decline Swan Inn, Long Melford on Sat 23rd Sep 06
Swan Inn's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. rated as one of our top reviews The Swan, Long Melford - a decent pub in a cute village, run by nice people. But it didn't help that half of the regulars were at a party up at the big house. Oooarrr!

Despite this, Mo, Lazza, Chris and Trev rolled out a series of well executed rock covers. Loadsa Lizzy (kept me happy), ZZ Top, Primal Scream, Gigolo Aunts, Deep Purple, Georgia Satellites, with the odd unexpected addition - 'Money, Money, Money' by Abba, for instance.

Chris and Lazza handled the vocals well - witness Chris's performance of the no doubt difficult 'Highway Star' - the musicianship was mighty fine and Trev kept it rock steady at the back (honest, they're not paying me to say this). Stand-out performer was lead guitarist Mo ('The Widdler' to his pals) -you can tell the geezer's done it professionally.

Attempts were made to add some comedy - eg. Lazza's shrunken guitar, evidently because his missus had 'cleaned' it in the washing machine. And, if you're a guitarist, don't ever ask Lazza for an 'A' - you're liable to have a poorly cut out paper representation of the letter thrust in your face.

Overall an entertaining evening supplied by guys who obviously know what they're doing. Catch 'em if you can.

Oh, and apparently they stormed The Railway pub in Ipswich the following night.
