Dr 8 Ball Dr 8 Ball on Sat 17th Jun 06
I was at the Queen's Head one night when these lads played, and was very surprised with what I heard. Were these fresh faced lads actually playing music inspired by the greats of my generation? They certainly were! It sounded great, it's well worth checking these lads out, even if ska isn't your thing.

We had a very enjoyable evening in the company of tetra'tum and would highly recommend them. Just love that Didgeridoo!

Great Gig Ten Days Unshaven on Sat 28th Jan 06
On Saturday 28th January, the Queen's Head was electric, and not just because of the amount of amps the guys from Ten Days Unshaven had lugged to the venue. There was a definite sense of anticipation as the audience collected their drinks, found tables and waited eagerly for Danny, Chris and Paul to start their performance.
Ten Days Unshaven have been playing together since 2004, and their set was a showcase of significant talent and a love of the blues genre. Their music is a clear blend of musical influences including BB King, Rory Gallagher and Eric Clapton; a creation they call 'blues with a hint of anarchic rock'.
Memorably during the night, the trio from Hitchin breezed through a series of covers from legends such as Jimi Hendrix (Voodoo Child and Hey Joe) and Lynyrd Skynyrd (Sweet Home Alabama). The classics had everyone dancing in their seats, the more adventurous few taking to their feet! Check them out on 4th March when they will be playing at the Offley Recreation Centre in Hitchin.

Good job! Strange Folk on Sun 28th Aug 05
The best performance I have seen Strange Folk do for ages. The mix was just right and I loved the effects the sound man kept throwing in for the vox. Job well done!

| Print Flyers | |
|
|
|
| Print 3 flyers per A4 page, with marked cutting guides. Hint: setting your start date to the first of a month, and your end date to the last day of a month, gives a neat heading on your flyer, e.g. setting 1 May 2008 and 31 Aug 2008 as the start and end dates will produce the heading: 'MAY - AUGUST 08'. Try it! You can also set the font size to a decimal value (e.g. 9.3) to make the gigs fit exactly onto the page. | |
