What a blast The Plume of Feathers, Little Wymondley on Sat 12th Apr 08
Review NOT edited by Lemonrock - original text Popped in the Plume of Feathers for a pint and thought I'de gone back in time to the fifties!
The Rapides were on stage pumping out one song after anothere, excellent!
Tear it up and living doll were spot on!

Johnny Parish Solo! on Sat 20th Oct 07
Review edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. Johnny's solo performance was great! He was very entertaining and really knew how to get the party going! He sang a wide range of songs that appealed to everyone and it wasn't long before he had everyone dancing and singing along too. He has excellent vocals and has some great moves too! He has a very likeable personality and was able to put everyone at ease and just enjoy the evening. I certainly would have no hesitation in hiring Johnny again in the future and would also recommend him to others. For this particular party, Johnny did a solo because the venue was not large enough for the whole band. I have heard Johnny singing with his band and again thoroughly enjoyed the performance. He is a natural 'performer' with passion and energy doing what he clearly enjoys. He obviously is very talented. I would like to say "thank you" to Johnny on behalf of myself, family and friends for a wonderful evening. It would be great to see you again soon.

top night The Vincent Bar, Stevenage on Sun 23rd Sep 07
Review edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. You guys did this gig for my Siobhanarok charity Custom Show. You guys were brilliant... a real hip- bopping, knee tapping sound, and even the most boring of punters were up and shaking their stuff.

Your stage presence is great, and your entertainment value is second to none.

A score out of 10 for The Rapides? A well deserved 12!

Go see this band for one of the best nights you will ever have!
Juke, Thu 27th Sep 07
Reply from The Rapides: Thanks very much Juke. It was a pleasure to help out and be part of it.
Good night out The Fold, Stevenage on Sun 29th Apr 07
Review edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. That was one good night in the "Vincent Bar" on Sunday night. Great sound and great fun.

Rock and Roll with an original sound.

As always loved "Tear it Up". Got to hear it twice just to put the icing on the cake.

Twenty Flight Rock was another good 'un. Hopefully more dancers on Saturday night.
Nick & Alina, Tue 1st May 07
Reply from The Rapides: Thanks Nick and Alina. Glad you enjoyed it - and keep coming back for more !!! See you soon !

Print 3 flyers per A4 page, with marked cutting guides. Hint: setting your start date to the first of a month, and your end date to the last day of a month, gives a neat heading on your flyer, e.g. setting 1 May 2008 and 31 Aug 2008 as the start and end dates will produce the heading: 'MAY - AUGUST 08'. Try it! You can also set the font size to a decimal value (e.g. 9.3) to make the gigs fit exactly onto the page.

(click for larger picture)[Thu 17th Apr 08] .................and now at long last ! .......finally, we've booked a recording session !!!!

We will be going into the recording studio in August. This will enable us to produce a saleable CD and an up to date demo for promoters.

Some self penned songs together with some of our favourite covers will be included. One or two well known songs may also be included.

Watch this space !
(click for larger picture)[Wed 2nd Jan 08] We're gonna Rock 'n' Roll like a bunch of nutters in 2008.

With the festive season now out of the way, we are going to concentrate our efforts on the things that are important, like GIGGING, RECORDING and REHEARSING (not necessarily in that order !)

We are all convinced we are going to have a good year this year, focus and drive are high so watch out (and to quote The Wild Angels)

"..........we're on our way..........we're gonna travel all over this land with our Rock 'n' Roll band !

Keep it Rockin' in 2008 !
(click for larger picture)[Sun 12th Aug 07] Cheers mate, was the resoundin... Cheers mate, was the resounding cry of everyone at The Plume of Feathers on Saturday 11th August as Chris Cole bade farewell to The Rapides. Chris has been depping as lead vocalist for us until we found a new singer - Johnny Parish takes over the lead man role from now.

Chris was in good form last night acting as front man and chief slapstick comedian. During the start of the second set when the band played the instrumental "In the mood", Chris on this hot summers night went outside and started pulling faces at Dave, Ralph and Mick from outside the french doors situated behind Ralph the drummer. Several bum notes later when Mick had retained his composure, the words "daft b*£$@*" were uttered by all the band members - probably heard over the PA ! My ribs still ache this morning !!!!!

We didn't know whether to give Chris his leaving present (a bottle of brandy) or to bang him over the head with it !

Chris - it's been a pleasure, we'll catch you round and hopefully have that session we keep talking about !!!

"SO LONG GOOD LUCK AND GOODBYE"
as now you've left
"YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO BAWL THAT'S ALL! "
[Sun 15th Oct 06] STOP PRESS:- Latest news in - ... STOP PRESS:- Latest news in - final total was £900 raised from this event, which has enabled the school to buy a football kit and a microphone system.

Thanks to everyone who supported the Larwood gig on Saturday 7th October. The school made £780 from the night.

It would appear that people also enjoyed themselves, particularly as one party were leaving at 11.30 (when we were still playing) and told Dave our bass player, that their coach had been booked for 11 (they thought it was finishing then) and the only reason they were going was that the coach driver may leave without them !

Hope to see you all next year, if not sooner !
