The Reoffenders[Punk genre Covers, 5 piece]

The Reoffenders provide a show of Classic and Modern Punk Rock, delivered with all the energy of the original Punk Rock explosion of the late 70s. Be you a former Punk re-living those great days or a youngster, this show will take you on a rocket-ride from The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Undertones, The Jam and Blondie, right up to modern hits from Green Day, Offspring and Rancid.

But more than anything, a Reoffenders show is about entertainment, so they'll not leave before they poke a punk finger of fun at the likes of Elton John, Kim Wilde, Motown, and, er, Britney Spears.

The Reoffenders non-stop assault of punk hits is coming your way - spike up your hair and be prepared for some Teenage Kicks! As one reviewer said "if you can stand still to this lot, then you're clinically dead".

Great night at the Longbrook The Longbrooke, Exeter on Thu 1st May 08
The Longbrooke's pageReview NOT edited by Lemonrock - original text The Reoffenders were back in town tonight, Thusday 1st May. We were told they were away on a working holiday at Butlins, but being reoffenders we guessed differently of course! They livened up the pub with some great punk and it was a fun night. It needed to be as Exeter City had just lost to Torquay, with punters watching it live in the bar. We had renditions of the strange "Barry the Roofer" and the familiar "Psycho". It was good to see everyone enjoying themselves and a few us dancing, if you can call it that. It's great to have you all back with us, so behave and you won't have to go away again so soon.
JC - The Rusty Rocker.
John, Sat 3rd May 08
Reply from The Reoffenders: Thanks JC. Glad you liked Barry the Roofer... that was a new one in the set. We're rather fond of it :-)
A punking good bank holiday! The Vintage, Wellington on Sun 26th Aug 07
Review edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. What a brilliant day, helped by the the 3 S's, sun, sounds, and cider! An excellent set by the excellent band, who were all on fire!

Mr Hoover made excellent use of the tables and lamp posts for hanging off of.

This was my first time seeing them, although I had heard them several times before from behind the bar. I must say they were every bit as much fun visually as they sound. (Although it could have been the amber tinted, apple flavoured, glasses).

This was an outdoor event in the beer garden, and there was no better place to listen to a huge number, and variety, of punk and new wave classics, along with some cleverly adapted other songs (Britney, Elton John, plus others), again brilliantly performed by Johnny Hoover and Heather Morphy-Richards, supported admirably by Paul Indesit, Bully 'Baby' Belling and Katie Tefal.

The afternoon was supported by the Dave Rich Band in the evening, who were also very good.

This turned out to be a brilliant day, helped by the nice weather, yes there was sun!

The only downside was a severely aching body next day, caused by too much jumping around like a twat.... but, whatever, that was my aim...

Don't miss them, especially if you can see them at the Vintage, (check out the gig guide), Wellington's Premier music venue. There will always be a good atmosphere when the Reoffenders are playing.

Made my year... Cheers!

Smokin'! The Phoenix, Exmouth on Sun 1st Jul 07
The Phoenix's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. rated as one of our top reviews Sunday afternoon gigs have a very different vibe about them to Friday nights and Saturday nights, and this one had the new non-smoking regs to contend with too!

The exuberant Johnny Hoover made the most of his 50 foot mic lead and ventured out on to the pavement to serenade the puffers and to use as much of the available floor space as possible as a stage.

Dressed in authentic punk garb, Johnny's mad hair and great make up on Heather; and they deliver a really entertaining punk set.

Favourite moments include a memorable 'My perfect cousin', '99 Red Balloons' with a balloon release too; and a hilarious punk version of Britney's 'Toxic'.

Full on from start to finish and encores - you can't help but have a smile on your face!

Well worth seeing if you get the chance!

Reoffenders Rrrrrock! Private Party, Exeter on Fri 15th Jun 07
Private Party's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. rated as one of our top reviews Sometimes you go to see a band and they are good fun but not technically good musicians. Sometimes you see a band and they are technically very good but a bit dull to watch. There are relatively few bands on the circuit who are very good at both but the Reoffenders are, without doubt, one of the best bands in the southwest you can possibly wish to see. They are great fun and they are great singers and musicians. They provided the music for my party and I can say - honestly - that they put a smile on everybody's face, without exception. Even if you are not a particularly big fan of punk rock they will appeal to anyone who wants to be entertained. If you need a band for your party you could hardly do better the Reoffenders. Or should that be the ReofFUNders!! To Jonny, Heather, Paul, Bully and Katie a big, big thank you - you made our night!

[Fri 18th Apr 08] History of the Reoffenders .... in photos I've been going through some old pics tonight and have put together a Facebook photo album that traces the band from the very beginning.

But... you'll have to join Facebook to look at it. sorry, but it takes ages to put together so I'll only be doing it once.

Go to our Facebook page for this and more photos as well as updates, etc.
[Fri 18th Apr 08] Eton Rifles Video Hoover has been working on a video for Eton Rifles. I'm not sure if this is the final version but I thought it was about time you got to see all his hard work....

[Wed 26th Mar 08] (From a music fan : gig at Zephyr Bar, Exeter on 21 March 2008) : This was the first time we had been to see the Reoffenders and it was also the first time we'd been to the Zephyr Bar. We won't be repeating one of these experiences. The band were good, showing a wide repertoire of punk classics and dressing the part too. I would certainly like to see them again but to be honest I felt a little sorry for them because this venue is awful! It has great space, a purpose built stage and lovely toilets but that is about as much as you could say for it. The walls are white and the lights are bright so there's no chance of any atmosphere, (it feels a little like a hospital ward or airport departure room!) Prior to the band coming on they were showing MTV videos on a large screen but the songs being played over the in-house speakers were different to the ones on the screen. Then when the band came on, they turned the in-house speakers off but left the videos on! If they are going to book live music then turn off the videos and at least dim the lights around the stage and dance floor. The other disappointing aspect to the evening was the absence of any style in the audience. Can't people be bothered to dress up a bit any more? It comes to something when the best dressed people were the punks on stage! On the other hand maybe the crowd had visited the Zephyr before and dressed accordingly....! - a music fan
Reply from The Reoffenders: Sorry that you didn't enjoy Zephyr but glad you liked us :-D There's a refit happening there soon with big investment in the stage area. It's only recently changed hands - I'm sure things will pick up
[Thu 21st Feb 08] (From angus kennedy : gig at The Hairy Dog, Minehead on 1 February 2008) : Hi guys. Just a few words to say how much my friends and I enjoyed your gig at the Hairy Dog in Minehead. Shame there was so few people in that evening, we shall certainly put the word around for the next gig in April. Loved the mix of modern with classic punk, have not danced like that for years, got the bruises to prove it! We were the ones with the mad bald dancer - Fred. Absolutely loved it, will be back for more at the next gig - c u in April guys - Angus and Lez - angus kennedy
Reply from The Reoffenders: Thanks guys. Looking forward to the next one.... I believe the pub are encouraging everyone to go in punk fancy dress next time. Should be a fun night :-) See you soon Heather
