Thoroughly enjoyable Funky Judge, Plymouth on Wed 13th Jun 07
First time I've been to The Funky Judge, first time I've been to a gig in Plymouth and first time I've seen Rob. I will definitely be back to all three again. Plymouth is lovely in the evening and the Funky Judge is a very, very nice place. As for the artist, he is the finished article. His musicianship is spot on, his voice is full of soul, blues, rock and probably opera if he wished and he possesses the looks of a film star.
His set included 'Friends' by Led Zeppelin which was honestly amazing, followed by 'Ain't No Sunshine' which must have been written with his voice in mind. What a contrast in songs but somehow he made it all fit together. I really enjoyed the whole evening and can't wait to do it all again.

Foxgloves, Deadly Nightshade The Ten Tors Inn, Kingsteignton on Thu 29th Mar 07
I can't get those words and that melody out of my head. 'Foxgloves, Deadly Nightshade' - this song has the potential of becoming a classic. Rob Swann played a host of well known songs at The Ten Tors last night and really stunned me with the quality of his voice and interpretation. The place puts on music on Thursday evenings and I have called in and been very entertained by most of the acts. Last night will last with me because mainly of that song 'Foxgloves, Deadly Nightshade'. It's one of his own compositions and stood out from the rest . What a song.

superb day, superb night The Jolly Farmer, Newton Abbot on Sun 23rd Jul 06
After the depleted line up at Airfusion this year we went along to the Jolly Farmer to sample the delights of the much talked about Rob Swann.
The day had been red hot and the staff had moved the stage out on to the patio area at the rear of the pub where the tables and chairs were all full awaiting the evening's turn.
The local paper had sent its entertainment reporter, perhaps in anticipation of what was to come.
Rob started with 'Losing My Religion' which got the crowd singing setting the tone for the rest of the evening. "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone" was then sang with such ease yet such feeling that the applause rang out into the first few bars of 'Lucky' from Radiohead's classic collection.
Plenty of Oasis kept the vocal chords of the audience well oiled whereas the Beatles numbers chosen, Eleanor Rigby, Fool On The Hill, and the multi requested Day In The Life were listened to in awe rather than accompanied by the very appreciative audience. The evening was not allowed to end before four songs had been performed for encore and the singer was finally allowed to put down the guitar and finish off his glass of water.
"Thanks everyone and goodnight" were Rob's parting words which were almost drowned out by the applause.
Thanks Rob for a superb show.

memorable gig The Jolly Farmer, Newton Abbot on Sun 23rd Jul 06
Following on from Sam's review of Rob's performance at the Jolly Farmer on Sunday evening I think that possibly everyone there felt that they were witnessing someone who has a special and natural talent.
He strolled from one song to the next with such ease that made the whole evening so relaxing yet uplifting and also exciting.
It has been said many times that Rob has a knack for making the most difficult songs very comfortable and often performs other people's work as good if not better than the original artist would do live.
Sunday was a special evening when the venue, the audience, the weather and the artist all conspired together to make a very memorable occasion for all.

[Sun 29th Jul 07] Lemonrock's video page is no m... Lemonrock's video page is no more so I decided to have a look at youtube to upload a few live performances onto the net. Purely for gigging purposes I've put a few covers which I do at gigs on there as well as originals and hopefully people will be able to get a more measured insight into my act rather than just listening to an album full of my own compositions. I'm sitting in front of my computer with just my guitar so theres no crowd noise as it's up in my bedroom. As everyone knows it's difficult to get places to listen to your c.d.s so downloading from a computer may prove more of a toil for them but it's worth a try. www.youtube.com and then type in rob swann. | [Tue 28th Mar 06] Rob Swann's new album is avail... Rob Swann's new album is available to buy from his website: www.robswann.com. All of it is original material written by Rob and produced by Barney Dine.

| | No Longer Than It Lasts
This CD covers the last couple of years' material and includes a few unheard tracks.
All the songs were penned by Rob and performed to the high standard we have come to expect from such a unique talent.
Watch out for one for each side which uses different guitar tunings giving the song its Eastern Promise sound as it builds around the strange chord sequences. |
