Rosa Rebecka will be joined on stage by five musicians who have all given their time and talent to this album: Nick Wyke and Becki Driscoll on lustrous fiddles, Georgie Watts on lush vibraphone, Paul Wilson on warm and impressive piano accordion and Rowan Massey on deep and profound double bass. Afterwards, there will be celebrations in the bar. 8pm The Big Launch of the album 'UNTOLD' £5/£7 |

Water Carvings, Rosa Rebecka's (Rebecka Slater Lyons') debut album, is dedicated to her late husband Tom, who died of cancer in 2003. A love song from her native Sweden starts and finishes the album, complementing a set of original English songs described by NetRhythms as 'intensely beautiful'. South West Gig Guide writes: 'Water Carvings is a truly unique and beautifully crafted album, every track feels like a journey of discovery'. |

On the 27th of November 2005, Rosa Rebecka was invited to support the celebrated folk star Eliza Carthy at Exeter Phoenix Arts centre.
The years leading up to this event, Rebecka had been playing mainly in small pubs around Devon. Now, for the first time, she played in an arts centre, facing a sold-out auditorium of discerning music lovers eagerly awaiting Carthy's set.
The gig became a turning point in Rebecka's singing career. With her pure voice, thought provoking lyrics and honest performance style, she wowed an unsuspecting audience.
The performance was recorded by Rob Waite, the musician/sound engineer who is presently recording Rebecka's next album. |
