Rhythms Of The World is YOUR festival. That's the message from the organisers of the 13th Hitchin-based music street festival. People of all ages, cultures and backgrounds unite in enjoyment of a single event. It is the largest FREE festival of world music in the UK, and is the highlight of the Hitchin Festival. * 140 performances with over 700 performers on eight stages * Projected audience of 25,000 * A registered charity organised by local volunteers * Funded by sponsorship, grants, stall lets, and merchandise sales. The aim of the festival is to provide a bridge of common interest between different age, race, ability and economic groups through community activity. It is a "world" music festival of cultural exchange on a local as well as international level. With 8 venues across Hitchin and a massive programme of events ROTW 2004 will be the best yet. ROTW is all about expanding your horizons and bringing you tastes, sounds, views and people that are outside your norm. A weekend spectacular of sound and colour.
