 Hard rockin' The Horns, Watford on Sun 16th Sep 07 | |
   The billboard listed Texas Flood and 'friends'. Texas Flood played their usual hard rockin' blues. Their friends turned up in huge numbers and played hard rockin' rock. Fortunately the stage is now larger, and the lighting and sound system has been upgraded. I left the pub smiling with ears ringing - late - it should have finished at 6pm but went on till 7.15. Worth missing my Sunday roast for. Could have rocked on all night as far as I was concerned - it was that good! If you like classic blues played hard and fast, see this band - they never disappoint. The pub is probably the best music venue in the area. It's also easy to find - at the top of the town. Popular with students in the 60s for its real ale it has staged regular events over the past few years. Famous names have recently appeared - Georgie Fame, Paul Young, Geno Washington, to mention a few. Also stages tribute bands - a good way to hear the music if you can't get to see the originals. Good local bands perform here - it's usually free to come in, sometimes a few pence on the drinks or pay on the door, but it's always good value. Booking advisable for the more popular bands. Give The Horns a visit and let's get music live again. Top pub. | |
