Cool Dudes Fridge Magnates on Sat 7th Apr 07
Fridge Magnates's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. This was the first time I had seen this band. They had been recommended by a friend from another brilliant local band, so I popped in at The Squirrel to take a look. I was not disappointed. Cool Dudes played a good range of songs from the seventies and with all three guitarists having a go at the vocals it made a varied and entertaining night. Nice one chaps, I look forward to seeing you again.

Reply from Fridge Magnates: Many thanks Martin (you seem to be calling us COOL DUDES - well, that sounds a much more desirable band name than the one we actually have and still retains the "coldness" theme)! First Stevenage gig for us & hopefully not the last. A genuinely appreciative audience! Our guitarists used to be in a 70s band, so it would be stupid of us to neglect that decade's tunes. Glad the more modern stuff went down well too. Lastly, you're not Martin from our band I hope, because that's cheating!! ;)
Great Night Thanks! Fridge Magnates on Sat 7th Apr 07

Loved the music and enjoyed the good mix of different types of tunes.

Cannot believe that Paul could reach the notes in Prince's "Kiss"! Paul you seriously need to see a doctor about that! I am female and I could not reach those notes wearing six inch stilettos and standing on a step ladder - Well done! Loved it!

Thanks for playing Oasis for me and 'I predict a Riot' was superb!

Good music - played well - by a bunch of nice guys! Perfect recipe for success...

keep Up the good work!
Loo from the Lost Boys, Sun 15th Apr 07
Reply from Fridge Magnates: No medical attention required, Luisa! Prince sung the song in the same register, is shorter than me, dressed weirdly, but was always surrounded by glamorous women in his vids! Seriously though, that song seems to be a popular part of our set! It was nice to see you along with Terry & Dave from your band and the Squirrel was a FANTASTIC pub to get into. "A BUNCH OF NICE GUYS" may not be an aspiration for many very young musos, but it becomes a huge compliment as all the Magnates are over 40!
Spot on Lost Boys on Sat 4th Nov 06
Lost Boys's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. Another great night at The Squirrel. Louisa and the Boys were spot on again. They had us dancing the night away with numbers from The Who, Deep Purple, Green Day, AC DC and Billy Idol to name but a few. Dave on Bass had us in stitches with a pair of black thick-lensed specs he must have borrowed off of Hank Marvin and when he put the longhaired wig on I thought he must have been reliving his glam rock days with the Glitter Band. I wanna be in this gang, this gang yer!!
