Fab Gig at Scratchers Geist on Sat 29th Oct 05
Sitting at the back of the pub, we were carried away by the music and the response of the crowd - FANTASTIC.
The acoustics in the pub suited you guys perfectly. Neither the guitar nor violin drowned each other out. You all created the atmosphere that we were at a personal performance of something very special.
My only disappointment was that there was only one rendition of 'Untitled 7' - but then as my favourite song from the first album for music, lyrics and atmosphere - I guess you could say I'm biased.
Personally speaking - on the weekend of Samhain, the lyrics and the music made two Celtic witches very happy indeed.
Shame for those that missed it - roll on for album #2.
Can't wait to see you guys again soon.

Catch 'em quick!! Geist on Sat 29th Oct 05
Two firsts for me last Saturday - the first time I'd been to the Three Lions and the first time I'd seen Geist. The pub is a decent sized venue which prides itself on putting on top quality bands and Geist, on their first visit certainly maintained that record.
Geist are a 5 piece with a twist - bass, drums, electric and accoustic guitars being supplemented by the violin of Anna - which adds a totally different dimension to their sound, a perfect mixture of folk and rock. Add to that the fact that all five are clearly superb musicians and you have a sure fire receipe for success.
On stage they are bright and buzzing with enthusiasm from the word go, and stand outs in the first set for me were Untitled 9, No More Tomorrows, Decreasing Circles, That Was Then and Your Rituals.
At the break it was clear they had the crowd intrested, intrigued, in the palm of their hands... would they deliver in the second set? Oh yes!
The second half of the show was quite brilliant! From openers '25' and 'Breakdown' onwards, Geist delivered a full on performance that culminated in the magnificent 'Steam Trains'. Two richly deserved encores ended the evening, leaving the crowd calling for more, more, more!
I believe they will be back at this venue in the New Year - catch them while you can folks, this is a band that is definitely going places.

| Print Flyers | |
|
|
|
| Print 3 flyers per A4 page, with marked cutting guides. Hint: setting your start date to the first of a month, and your end date to the last day of a month, gives a neat heading on your flyer, e.g. setting 1 May 2008 and 31 Aug 2008 as the start and end dates will produce the heading: 'MAY - AUGUST 08'. Try it! You can also set the font size to a decimal value (e.g. 9.3) to make the gigs fit exactly onto the page. | |
