ONE OF ONLY TWO UK Tom Jones tributes to record a DEMO FOR TOM JONES HIMSELF (MP3 below). The demo, The Price Of Coal, was written by Johnny Caesar, hit songwriter for Tom's "Darlin' " Album in 1981. He chose Ian for his powerful vocals. Johnny has only allowed two artistes to record this song- the great Welshman, David Alexander and Ian.
Ian is No.1 choice for all the top International Agencies. He has just performed for SCOTT JORDAN for top entrepreneur Elio Buizza at his country mansion, with a top Abba Band. Signed by Pontypridd's only tribute agency-Spotlight Promotions, his 12th Welsh Tribute Agency, Ian has just played Gilfach Goch Club in Tonyrefail near Pontypridd (Tom played there in 1961). Ian appeared at the famous Tom's (Wood Road Club-Treforest) in 2003 (See Photo).
Another great honour was promoting Tom Jones 'Party In Hyde Park' in 2002 for Tom's promotion company (see photo), touring around London singing to the crowds with models and Limos. Ian finished the day singing to the fans in Hyde Park from a security buggy. How do you top that?
Ian was invited to the Ritz London by Ian Gomes the resident pianist after he saw Ian in Deal. He has also played the Mayfair Hotel-London, Dynamic Earth Centre-Edinburgh, Hilton Hotel-Newcastle(for millionaire Graham Millward-Ian sang to Alan Shearer & Sir Bobby Robson), Voodoo Lounge-Leicester Square, Ministry Of Sound-London with David Alacey(Sinatra) compered by MP Simon Hughes, Westpoint Arena-Exeter(3000 crowd), Brighton Pier(with Gary Edwards as Robbie Williams), Liverpool FC, Aston Villa (with Abba Revival), Leeds United, Hull Kingston Rovers(Super League 15,000 crowd on SKY TV), Southend United(floodlit 10,000 crowd), Walsall FC, Acacia Hall with American Drifters(6000 crowd), Stringfellows with Keith Chegwin & has supported Frank Carson at the Paradise Club-Tenerife & the Swinging Blue Jeans at the Elefante-Spain.
Ian has now joined the Viva Las Vegas Theatre Show.
He achieved the ultimate on 28th June 08 with 3 Tom Jones tribute shows in one day! Trowbridge Festival- 6pm, VIP Party in Hythe-9pm & Romsey Sands Holiday Park-11pm. All tribute work! Ian has doubled up many times, but never performed 3 in one day!
