Jumpin! The Hub, Plymouth on Sat 19th Aug 06
I challenge anyone to stand still when Too Hot are playing! They are the best band in the area for me! I used to always say that I don't like Ska - it looks like I have to review that.
I like my comfort zone... familiar songs to sing along to. But Too Hot are a breath of fresh air that play original material with a real strong stage presence which commands your attention. Every song is so infectious and you dance your socks off.
This is the second time I've seen them. The first time I saw them, I heard them soundcheck "If I Could" which they played later in the set. 4 days later when I couldn't get it out of my head, I succumbed and ordered the "Time Flies" CD.
If you haven't seen them before... do it, you owe it to yourself!

Too Hot - So Cool Moretonhampstead Beer Festival, Moretonhampstead on Sat 6th May 06
These guys are brilliant. I've not seen them since this time last year when they headlined at BMAD. Bouncing is what they are. You can't stand still with them up there giving it large with those ska toons. Now ageing ol' Hoover will happily admit to being a big Two-Tone fan way back so I think I knows me ska - and these boys do it right and good.

pure class! The Bolton Hotel, Brixham on Sat 29th Apr 06
You don't expect to see this in a pub, it's normally just covers bands round here with too many guitar solos but this is different. Nearly all original songs it seems but that doesn't matter, they're so good you feel like you know them. The band are jammed in here so tight they're bouncing off each other like the crowd are bouncing off each other too. A break between sets gives everyone a chance for a breather and to grab more drinks and then the band pile into a load more songs, faster and louder than the first lot with just a pause to say what's coming next and shout to friends. Absolutely mad and by the end everyone's shouting for more which they did. The band and crowd look exhausted by the end and that's the way it should be!
Has anyone ever mentioned how good the Bolton is? Great atmosphere, friendly people and cool staff. I'll be back.
