 Larger than XLR!!! XLR on Sat 24th Mar 07 | |
  Finally a band has arrived that will give the likes of The Joker a run for their money! XLR, is a Plymouth based five piece rock band featuring intense bass and superb lead guitar licks, lead by some of the best vocals you will hear. They certainly make you sit up and listen.
The band have brought together a few of the most talented and experienced musicians in the area and it shows! They're tight, rarely faltering and the only feedback you will hear are the crowds appreciative whistles...
Starting with a medley of Thin Lizzy, the boys are certainly back in town... but they don't stay in the past for long bringing the set right up to date with The Fratellis 'Chelsea Dagger', which you cannot help but sing along to.
Snow Patrol, Green Day, Zutons, Foo Fighters, Cranberries, Guns and Roses are to name but a few of the extensive range this talented band cover. Their ability to learn new material is only surpassed by the reliability of their solid guaranteed old favourites. Even the most frequently covered 'Summer of 69' is a winner.
A harmonious acoustic start to Bon Jovi's " living on a prayer" will leave you with goose bumps especially when the drums and rest of the band join in...

 The BarraCooda's are a must see band! They looked great last night, the singer modeling a designer (eg by Stevie Wonder) pink shirt and various Ann Summers articles!
The guys played something for everyone last night from 'Stay With Me' to an unbelivable 'Sabre Dance' (I have never seen a drummer sweat that much!) as well as covers by Radiohead, Elvis, the fantastic Stray Cats and many more.
All this, with hilarious comedy thrown in between the numbers, equals a great night out!
Catch this band soon. They play everywhere.
