fun night Slippery Dick & Hugh Jarse on Sat 23rd Feb 08
Review edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. A very raucous crowd made the mistake of doing some heckling. When this happened, most of Slippery Dick's comebacks were unprintable!

They had a great mix of songs and at one stage had the crowd singing Nellie the Elephant with a lady playing a triangle!

We heard songs from the Stray Cats, Stealers Wheel, The Beatles, The Monkees, Jimi Hendrix, Puddle of Mudd and a hilarious version of Heartbreak Hotel.

Mr Hugh Jarse played a blinder doing several new numbers while spending the evening throwing insults back at the singer.

They did 2 encores all in all - a fun night.

Rock 'til you Drop! Scared Stiff ! on Fri 22nd Feb 08
Scared Stiff !'s pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. This was Scared Stiff!'s first performance at The Village Inn and I really hope that it won't be their last!

The audience was made up by the Village Inn regulars, family, friends and fans of the band and we all had a great evening!

One girl in particular danced from the very first note to the end of the last chord! Many others joined her and the rest of us were toe-tapping and clapping along to the delights of (amongst others) the Yardbirds' "The Nazz are Blue", which I hadn't heard for a long time, and the great Motown medleys of "Knock on Wood" and "In the Midnight Hour".

I hope you guys enjoyed playing as much as I did listening!

Loved them! The Gadge Band on Sat 10th Nov 07
The Gadge Band's pageReview edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. We always look forward to getting 'alternative' acts here, and Gadge Band are certainly no exception. The band is a refreshing change to our usual acts and are always guaranteed crowd-pleasers. They are true entertainers and have a lovely blend of humour and wit. They are extremely talented With Phil's excellent guitar and vocals, and Gary's harmony and bongos, they are becoming more polished and professional with every gig.
We look forward to having them back here again soon.

Total Surprise Nation X on Sat 4th Aug 07
Review edited by Lemonrock to improve readability, by consent of the band/artist, or owner of the page. Everything from the Darkness to Megadeath through to Thin Lizzy & Deep Purple just to name a few, their version of "Crazy Horses" was a joy to be heard. The vocal range of the the lead singer was outstanding.

A very professional band with a decent sound system.

Please consider the environment before printing this flyer.
Print 3 flyers per A4 page, with marked cutting guides. Hint: setting your start date to the first of a month, and your end date to the last day of a month, gives a neat heading on your flyer, e.g. setting 1 May 2008 and 31 Aug 2008 as the start and end dates will produce the heading: 'MAY - AUGUST 08'. Try it! You can also set the font size to a decimal value (e.g. 9.3) to make the gigs fit exactly onto the page.
