Wellington is a fairly quiet small market town. The Vintage is one of the Town's friendlier pubs, always with a welcome to strangers.
The Vintage is a busy, but rarely overcrowded, pub. This is largely because of a well layed out interior, a large covered courtyard, and a huge beer garden.
Lunchtime and evening meals and snacks are available, and Children are welcome in the courtyard and garden areas during the day and early evenings.
It is the Towns premier live music venue, with live bands most weekends, normally Saturdays, sometimes Fridays, and sometimes both. Through the Summer some live events are held in the garden, giving it a festival feel.
Bed and breakfast is also available, it is best to phone first, but sometimes available on the spot.

 A punking good bank holiday! The Reoffenders on Sun 26th Aug 07 | |
  What a brilliant day, helped by the the 3 S's, sun, sounds, and cider! An excellent set by the excellent band, who were all on fire!
Mr Hoover made excellent use of the tables and lamp posts for hanging off of.
This was my first time seeing them, although I had heard them several times before from behind the bar. I must say they were every bit as much fun visually as they sound. (Although it could have been the amber tinted, apple flavoured, glasses).
This was an outdoor event in the beer garden, and there was no better place to listen to a huge number, and variety, of punk and new wave classics, along with some cleverly adapted other songs (Britney, Elton John, plus others), again brilliantly performed by Johnny Hoover and Heather Morphy-Richards, supported admirably by Paul Indesit, Bully 'Baby' Belling and Katie Tefal.
The afternoon was supported by the Dave Rich Band in the evening, who were also very good.
This turned out to be a brilliant day, helped by the nice weather, yes there was sun!
The only downside was a severely aching body next day, caused by too much jumping around like a twat.... but, whatever, that was my aim...
Don't miss them, especially if you can see them at the Vintage, (check out the gig guide), Wellington's Premier music venue. There will always be a good atmosphere when the Reoffenders are playing.

Brilliant night at the Vintage! I'd heard all about this punk band that had played there before and was told, 'Allie you HAVE to go'!!!
Now, I can be critical but I went along and I've got to say that the Reoffenders were brilliant. Lots of classic punk and some re-workings of Britney and Elton (Yes Elton). If you get the chance go and see them.!!

Yeah suckers - you missed it, you missed out.
Ironic interpretations of unlikely un-punk clashed with raw authentic material to take us right back to 1977. Could this be real punk? Denis the Menace with eye liner. It looked like it and it certainly sounded like it. Only the gobbing was missing. Hopefully it mostly did. (Was it Joe Strummer who caught hepatitis from a face full?) But where the original punks were just sooooo po-faced, the Re-Offenders re-captured the punk spirit and hit us with power and premeditated humour. No fancy fingering, they made the Damned look like prog-rockers. Sadly no room to pogo so no ASBOs. I'll see 'em again, don't know where, don't know when. | |
