Great Band Cold Harbour on Fri 25th Apr 08
What a band. I had a great night at the welly on friday. The place was electric filled with people dancing & enjoying the energetic young band. Only criticism would be that the bass was way to loud, turn it down mate. Lead guitarist was excellent I love foxy lady & pinball wizard & the boy can sing too, red house was amazing.

Worth the trek Wired on Sat 1st Dec 07
The covers were really good. My partner likes Kings of Leon and recognised a song from them (I did not!) However I loved 'You Do Something To Me', one of my all time favourite songs. I have not ever heard anyone cover Arthur Conley's 'Sweet Soul Music' before and that too, is a favourite of mine and we danced to 'Heatwave', shimmied to the Beatles, & sang along to The Rolling Stones, The Riverboat Song, (which is apparently very hard to master). 'Soul Man' was good too. '20th Century Boy' was also fun to dance around to as I luurrve T-Rex.
The play list was wide and varied and loud in all the right places. Would love to hear them cover Don Henley 'Boys of Summer', something rocky by Bryan Adams, something by Robbie (sad girl I am!), Robert Palmer, Foo Fighters.
They covered all the tastes of people in our group and encored with 'I Predict a Riot', 'Eton Rifles' and 'A Town called Malice'.

loved it! Gravity on Sat 27th Oct 07
Had a fantastic time - the band were all excellent and their enthusiasm was infectious. They're a five piece with four vocalists, which added to a highly varied and entertaining set. Among the many highlights were a brilliantly performed "Word Up", a tight and funky "Ain't No Stopping Us Now" and, best of all, an inspired rocked-up version of Madonna's "Material Girl", which was beautifully sung by female vocalist Danni. The band had everyone moving, with even the bar staff dancing and singing along as they pulled the pints.
The Wellington Arms is a lovely little venue. It has a really friendly, welcoming atmosphere, and the regulars love their music (and they serve a great pint of Guinness). It's a great place to watch bands, and Gravity are a great band to watch. If you get the chance, go see them!

Such A Night......... AbaKus on Sat 15th Sep 07
As 'Dr John' famously sang............ From the first electrifying chord of the evening to the final roared chorus of the "I Predict A Riot" encore, we were treated to a truly magnificent performance by these masters of their craft.
From the bravura performance of "Comfortably Numb", to ZZ Top, T Rex, an inspired Jimi Hendrix set where "Little Wing" segued seamlessly into "Purple Haze" and countless others, including two original numbers, AbaKus effortlessly seduced us all with their infectious enthusiasm for the music and the crowd sang and danced all night long.
This was the first time for AbaKus at the Wellington and the geography of the pub makes this a particularly good music venue, with the lighting provided by the band adding immeasurably to the superb atmosphere. Those of us who have followed the progress of the Band for some time, are thrilled to find that each successive performance is sufficiently different from the one before to amaze and delight us all over again.....And again.......and again!
Thank you, AbaKus and keep 'em coming!

|
|
|
| Print 3 flyers per A4 page, with marked cutting guides. Hint: setting your start date to the first of a month, and your end date to the last day of a month, gives a neat heading on your flyer, e.g. setting 1 May 2008 and 31 Aug 2008 as the start and end dates will produce the heading: 'MAY - AUGUST 08'. Try it! You can also set the font size to a decimal value (e.g. 9.3) to make the gigs fit exactly onto the page. | |
