The White Lion Sessions.
Every Wednesday evening 9.00pm - 11.00pm
An informal gathering of local musicians, playing an exciting collection of predominantly Celtic session music with occasional contributions from European & America folk.
The number of musicians varies depending upon who turns up but averages around fifteen. This is an all-comers session so players of all abilities & all types of instruments within reason are welcome. (Amplified instruments are not generally suitable)
Instruments seen so far are Guitar, Mandola, Mandolin, Bouzouki, Violin, Viola, Double Bass, Harp, Banjo, Banjo Mandolin, various Accordions, Melodeons & Concertinas, Bongo drums, Box drum, Bodhran & miscellaneous Percussion, Flutes Whistles & Recorders of various sizes, Uilleann pipes to name but a few.
This is by no means preclusive as the session players are always interested in hearing unusual traditional instruments.
