great night! The Weary Traveller, Cullompton on Sat 18th Nov 06
The advert in the local paper was for a 60s covers band so down we went. We sat down waiting to here some classic oldies, but when the band started playing we thought we'd gone to the wrong pub - no sign of any oldies! But as the night wore on we were pleasantly surprised to hear Razorlight, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, U2 to name but a few.
Although there weren't that many people in the pub, when they played I bet u look good on the dance floor by the Arctic Monkeys, heads started to peer around pillars. I would say that the Weary is not a great venue as the band were a bit tucked away in the corner but the guys did a great job in the end - really enjoyed the night.

Reply from White Spirit: Hi Andy, thankyou for taking the time to write a review.
I`m sorry if we weren`t what you expected, we have never advertised ourselves as a sixties covers band, we cover songs from the sixties to the present day, so someone has got their wires crossed. We have loads of songs and can`t do them all, even though we were playing for over 3 hrs. If anyone asks for a certain era we do try and oblige.Anyway i am pleased to hear that you enjoyed what we did anyway, and thanks for supporting live music
Great Night The Village Inn Whipton, Exeter on Mon 7th Aug 06
Brilliant session by the band, not easy playing outside in the garden but the sound was excellent. Great to see such enthusiasm and energy and genuine desire to please. Three excellent sets ranging from the sixties right to to the latest by Razorlight, great mixture of old and new to keep everybody happy.

Reply from White Spirit: Thanks for the positive review, really enjoyed the gig.
The venue is shown as the Village Inn however, it should be the Volunteer in Sidmouth.
Dad I've done you a review! The Showman, Exeter on Fri 14th Jul 06
Despite being slightly biased (because my Dad is in this band!) White Spirit are a must-see band because they play a wide range of popular songs - both old and new - and they can please a crowd of any generation! Good gig guys! Eve x

Impressive The Showman, Exeter on Fri 14th Jul 06
This was the second time we have had this band here but this time they played the huge room at the back, it's licenced for 150 and the place was two-thirds full at least.
A great band who play a varied selection of music to suit most tastes. Ron's got a thing on his guitar that makes it sound like a Saxophone ? Kettle Drums too... That's a bit clever... Impressive performance and all in all a quality night.

| [Tue 10th Apr 07] Just had to comment on the gig... Just had to comment on the gig we did on Saturday at the Rockpoint Inn (7.4.07). You guys know how to enjoy yourselves at the Rockpoint. There was a birthday and a hen party going on and i think its fair to say everyone was well into the music we were playing, the atmosphere was brilliant. We had lots of good feedback and we are looking forward to coming back again in the summer. | [Mon 19th Jun 06] Originaly starting out as a pu... Originaly starting out as a pub band White Spirit find themselves playing more and more at private gigs, such as weddings, birthdays, etc. This is due to the variety of their extensive reportoir. As most bands know trying to please everyone at a gig is very difficult, so our set will include old favorites from The Stones, Beatles, Spencer Davis, The Levelers etc. to tracks from Bowie, Manics, U2, and then what we really enjoy, which is stuff that is bang up to date, such as chillis, Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol, Killers, etc. ect. | |
