Very Decent Duo The Rose & Crown, St Albans on Mon 10th Mar 08
Woodface played a very good range of cover versions, (including some of my faves from Crowded House & Squeeze) & they mixed it up well with some older songs (Beatles, Stones) together with some more modern covers (such as Snow Patrol, Kaiser Chiefs).
The singer/guitarist had a nice mellow voice, & sung all the songs very well, and the other guy seemed very good on bass & also seemed equally at home on the keyboard for certain songs. Only slight criticism would be that I thought the drum backing tracks they used were a little loud & overpowered the vocals & guitars, but it's only a minor criticism, as on the whole, I thoroughly enjoyed the songs they played & would definitely go & see them again if they play in St Albans.
