24 May 20213am looking forward to entertaining the fans again!
Covid spacing restrictions having put our normal rehearsal studios out of the picture, we've taken to outdoor practice. Our neighbours loving it and dancing! Currently, our next public gig for 2021 is the Pelican, Addlestone, on 31st July.

“On The Road Again” is the latest studio recording from blues rock band 3am. Title chosen in the spirit of hope that 2021 will see the Covid 19 Pandemic subside and our previous gregarious enjoyment of LIVE music will return!Three songs written by Tim Renton and Laura Long, followed by two classic rock covers.“On the Road Again” is pure up-beat, romantic country rock – with acoustic and pedal steel guitars and a touch of mandolin. Then comes “Reflections” – the second song to have Laura’s lyrics – a slower-paced analysis of a typical troubled relationship – blues with a poignant guitar solo. The mood changes again with Tim’s happy tribute to British blues founder Cyril Davies. Written and sung by Tim, “Thank You Cyril Davies” is a joyful bop through 1960’s reminiscences with some brilliant honky-tonk interspersed by Chris. Then come the cover songs: a powerful interpretation of Portishead’s “Glorybox” that allows the entire band to let go and PLAY! Finally, the passionate “Fever” written by Cooley and Blackwell, and here given a new twist with some Stevie Ray Vaughan styling.Wanna listen before you buy? click here for free: https://orcd.co/3amontheroadagain
The closest you - or we - can get to a live gig!
2 Jun 2020The closest you - or we - can get to a live gig!
During Lockdown, we've been trawling through our electronic archives, and found some surprising stuff! Mainly videos from live gigs - videos we deemed too raw/unprofessional/out-of-date to put here as relevant indicators of how 3am looks and sounds. If you have the time to look, check out our Youtube channel - go to Youtube and simply search for 3amBluesRock - and up we pop! Videos from way back in 2005 when 3am first formed - with the raw, Janis Joplin-like tones of Helen Turner on vocals, her partner (now husband) Iain Black on second guitar, Tim's brother Andy on drums, and Trevor Turley whirling around on bass.Later there are clips of Tola Lamont and her huge heavy-metal-loving voice, of Fussi Sanderhoff Andersen on either bass or drums - bless him - he still deps for us on either when need arises - replaced by the gorgeous Jamie Fisher on drums for before he also got head-hunted away. Film of Laura Long's debut on vocals and the arrival of the statuesque Phil Evans on bass, and through them all, Tim Renton on lead guitar and Chris Parren on keys. There's no visual record of our terrific new and inspired drummer Phil Myers as Covid 19 shut down all the venues before he'd done more than a handful of gigs with us - looking forward to introducing him to you. Onward and upward!

Great to get another professional review of our work! - and even better that it's not only another favourable one, but the reviewer (Norman Darwen) totally "got" the ethos of the songs!
