Two amazing gigs coming up in October!
24 Sep 2014Two amazing gigs coming up in October!
3am are delightedly gob-smacked to have been asked to be the support band for incredible guitarist Reeves Gabrels for two gigs on his upcoming UK Tour! He's coming over from the States at the end of September to tour with his power trio "Reeves Gabrels and His Imaginary Fr13nds". If you know the name, but can't quite place him - he's currently lead guitarist with The Cure, collaborates as song-writer and guitarist with David Bowie - and is one of the most innovative guitarists alive. We're supporting him on Sunday 5th Oct at Islington Bar Academy, and on Tuesday 7th Oct at the Bowery, Reading. These are our two favourite clips of his work from YouTube: with David Bowie, performing a very moving acoustic version of "Heroes" - http://bit.ly/1w0Sh6j and this one, with Robert Smith - some fantastic guitar sounds on "Yesterday's Gone" - http://bit.ly/1qvdKMIMake sure you catch at least one of his gigs this year!!
Clapham Grand was a blast! Next up is Richmond Festival
31 Jul 2014Clapham Grand was a blast! Next up is Richmond Festival
We had an amazing time at Clapham Grand! - those of you who were there already know that - (and thanks for coming!) Well over one thousand people in front of the stage when we played - and although 99% of them had never heard ANY of our songs before, they bopped their way through them and gave us some very welcome applause - thank you, Clapham!!! What a night!!!Life being the way it is, the very next day we heard that FAB Festivals - the promoters for the big August Bank Holiday Food/Beer/Music Festival to be held in Old Deer Park - have gone into liquidation! This very sadly means that the festival at the end of the month has been cancelled - and a lot of people have lost a lot of money - not good! However, the smaller (but FREE) two-day festival this coming weekend is still on! It's from 11.30 am to 17.45 both days, 11 bands over the two days. 3am will be playing from 3.30pm to 4.30pm on Sunday - joined by a couple of special guests for part of the set. It's a very family-friendly sort of day, and all in aid of the Richmond Food Bank, so please come along and have a brilliant time!
Restless, reckless - four new songs on one pretty EP
14 Jul 2014Restless, reckless - four new songs on one pretty EP
Three of the songs - "Hideaway Blues", "Wind Callin' My Name" and "Angel of the Road" are all inspired by that all-familiar "get away from it all" feeling. The fourth - "You Got Me Down" - is better known to our regular gig-goers as "Travesty" - the dark, heavy-on-the-wah-wah-pedal explosion you'd expect if you crossed our Laura! This is the first time the band have recorded a song with Tim taking the main vocals - "Angel" is his baby - based on dim recollections of a girl from college days nick-named "Waif" - wonder where she is now?All songs downloadable or you can buy the very pretty CD - link for both is here - http://bit.ly/1qznlEi
