AC/ZZuk [AC/DC & ZZ Top Tribute Band, 3 piece]
Bar Brunel, Bridgwater
23 Jan 2023Bar Brunel, Bridgwater
An early start at 6.30pm didn't stop a large crowd at the the venue being in place, drink in hand for the first number. This was the first gig of 2023 and it was a stonker. The Bon Scott hits from AC DC and ZZ Top's belters went down very well indeed. To be honest it was our first gig in Bar Brunel and we were a little concerned as it isn't the normal venue that would book us. My apprehension was unfounded. Russell and the staff were really welcoming, as were the regulars and we had a lot coming to see us who had seen us before and we thank you all. One slight caveat was there was some confusion over the start time. 3 guys came all the over from Burnham on Sea to see us as they had enjoyed the show in December at the Victoria Hotel. They had seen we started at 9pm, when they arrived just before 9 we had finished. Sorry for the confusion. We advertised on the ACZZuk Facebook page and Instagram with a video ad with a voice over about the early start but somehow they missed the early start post. Apologies again and we look forward to seeing you in the future. Again thanks to all yesterday at Bar Brunel, Great staff audience and a thoroughly enjoyable time was had by all. See you in Minehead or Exeter in a fortnight.Bar Brunel in BridgwaterHope to see you at our next gig, which is on Friday 3rd February 2023 at The Old Ship Aground, Minehead - details on Lemonrock at:https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=810547Don
The Victoria Hotel, Burnham-on-Sea
18 Dec 2022The Victoria Hotel, Burnham-on-Sea
The Victoria Hotel in Burnham-on-Sea'Twas the week before Christmas and all was quiet . . . until we started . . . LOL. It was freezing, in fact a brass monkey was looking for a welder, but it didn't stop the amazing crowd from packing the Vic in Burnham. Nice stage, fantastic staff who made us very welcome. A couple of minor issues with the monitors, but Andy sang all night (brilliantly) with very little, if any fold back (those of you in bands know how hard that can be). John was really on it too and the mix of Bon Scott's ACDC and the hits of ZZ Top kept the room buzzing from the first to the last song we played. The atmosphere was fab with friends. (Trish brought us cards and cake, thanks Trish). Other friends were also in attendance as well as the regular crowd who made for a great night. We were due to play there in 2020 but because of the obvious aggro back then we had to wait until last night but it was worth it! This was a monster show to finish this year off nicely. We will return to the Victoria Hotel a few times in 2023. Please come and say hello at our gigs next year. Thanks again to all the venues we have had the pleasure to play in over this last year. Merry Christmas and have a Safe and Prosperous New Year. See you all soon.Hope to see you at our next gig, which is on Sunday 22nd January 2023 at Bar Brunel, Bridgwater - details on Lemonrock at:https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=799266Don
The Lord Nelson, Norton Sub Hamdon
25 Oct 2022The Lord Nelson, Norton Sub Hamdon
Through the lashing rain, thunder and lightening came ACZZuk to the outpost and fab venue that is The Lord Nelson in Norton Sub Hamdon. Although the weather was awful it didn't stop the appreciative crowd from filling the pub.Mark, Helen and the staff were wonderful as always and made us very welcome. Taking our queue from Number 10, we changed a few things and added to the set and the show, "reshuffled" the sets as one would expect from the changes made and the 2 sets of Bon Scott AC/DC and the new tracks, including new additions from ZZ Top went very well indeed. The crowd were singing and dancing along to these fantastic tunes. Our thanks to all who came out in awful weather and thanks also to our good friend Paul, without whom the setting up and striking of the stage area would be even harder work. Pub, crowd and staff made it a fantastic night indeed, despite the weather. See you in a few weeks in Bridgwater. You never know we may have another set change by then :-)The Lord Nelson in Norton Sub HamdonHope to see you at our next gig, which is on Friday 25th November 2022 at Bar 27, Bridgwater - details on Lemonrock at:https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=791540Don
The Racehorse Inn, Taunton
29 Aug 2022The Racehorse Inn, Taunton
The Racehorse Inn in TauntonWell, Don (drummer) has had some memorable birthdays but this was up there with the best he reckoned, The weather helped us again and we were under a fab cover out the back of the pub in a huge seating area. We were up against Rag 'n' Bone man at Vivary Park but it didn't stop us getting rammed with a appreciative knowledgeable audience from the off. One slight negative, and I hate to mention it, but there was a moment when a guy stumbled and crashed into Andy's mic stand and almost took Andy's teeth out, luckily Andy's experience over 35 odd years gave him quick reactions and a disaster was averted, although his mic stand was damaged and we also found out later the inebriated individual had stamped on the monitor lead and bent it. It was a shame and happened in 2 seconds. The rest of the 1hour 59mins and 58 seconds was absolutely fantastic. Everyone sang and danced to all the Bon Scott era AC/DC and the hits of ZZ Top. A lot of compliments after the gig and a few enquiries too. (Look out for us at the Black Horse in 2023). The staff were wonderful and Chris, the new landlord was very helpful indeed and is turning the Racehorse Inn into an amazing live venue. A special thanks to the interval entertainer, Ellie Hogg, a fire dancer who was amazing. All in all a monster gig to celebrate Don's birthday with a bang. It was a fantastic night.Hope to see you at our next gig, which is on Saturday 22nd October 2022 at The Lord Nelson, Norton Sub Hamdon - details on Lemonrock at:https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=778656Don
