AC/ZZuk [AC/DC & ZZ Top Tribute Band, 3 piece]
Bar 27, Bridgwater
8 May 2022Bar 27, Bridgwater
Bar 27 in BridgwaterWe were contacted earlier in the week from Bar 27 and were asked not to soundcheck during the big game (Liverpool vs Spurs) that wouldn't finish until 9.30 which meant we couldn't start at the normal 9pm. This was no problem as we could set up on stage as all the big screens are scattered around the bar but not on the stage. The only thing was, there was no time for a soundcheck, but with the help of our good friend Paul we adjusted a little on the fly and all was well with the back line and PA within about 16 bars of the opener. There were some hardened ACDC fans in as well as a lot of our followers and friends which helped boost the atmosphere even higher. The staff welcomed us as always with a smile and appreciated the fact there was no drama about us waiting for the footie to end.The set was adjusted accordingly and it worked beautifully. We had a great night with singing and dancing along to the tunes as we have almost come to expect. The beauty of a "themed" band is everyone knows what they will get and we never disappoint with the Bon Scott era of ACDC and the classics of ZZ Top. Thanks again to all at Bar 27. Next up is a fab monster Bike Rally. Maybe catch you there at any of the other gigs, of which there are plenty this year. I'd like to mention here that there are tickets to see us at The RBL in Street nr Glastonbury on Saturday June 4th. The gig is to help keep the club afloat. We have contributed a good raffle prize of merchandise so lets all try and help a struggling venue. Too many venues have been lost so keeping an extra open will help us all. See you all soonHope to see you at our next gig, which is on Saturday 21st May 2022 at Double Trouble Bike Rally - Court Farm Country Park, Banwell - details on Lemonrock at:https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=758095Don
Esplanade Club, Watchet
1 May 2022Esplanade Club, Watchet
Esplanade Club in Watchet'Twas a quiet, still & dark night in Watchet . . . . Until we started up and the whole club was rocking from the first number. Quality not quantity was the order of the night and although it wasn't rammed there was standing room only, add to that the audience enthusiasm (especially in second half) and the place rocked with us all evening. Our thanks to the staff for their welcome and use of the PA. Also special thanks as always to Roy for the superb light design we have all come to enjoy. He helps makes the show so much better and enjoyable for the bands and the audience. Again thanks to all for a great night, We are back later in the year.Hope to see you at our next gig, which is on Saturday 7th May 2022 at Bar 27, Bridgwater - details on Lemonrock at:https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=791539Don
The Lucombe Oak, Exeter
17 Apr 2022The Lucombe Oak, Exeter
The Lucombe Oak in ExeterEaster Saturday was a lovely sunny day, leading to a fantastic drive down to one our favourite venues. The Lucombe Oak in Exeter. The crowd were with us even while we were setting up and couldn't wait until we started at 9,30pm, one guy even shot off to get his mates as he said they love the bands we cover and there were in the front tables by the start. The reception from Lars and the staff was, as always, warm, welcoming and accommodating. Some audience members had donned their ACDC tee shirts in readiness for the 2 sets of Bon Scott era ACDC and the hits of ZZ Top. We were asked about purchasing our ACZZ tee shirts we were wearing and other merchandise like mugs and fridge magnets, these are in the pipeline and will be available soon. We are also in he process of discussing tracks we want include in a CD which we will start recording very soon we hope. The crowd were dancing from the opening bars of our first tune "Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be", singing and dancing for the whole set including "Legs", "Shot Down in Flames" all the way to the last number of the first set an hour later with "Bad Boy Boogie"! That trend continued through the second set with everyone screaming "Highway to Hell" after getting warmed up joining in with the "Heys" of "High Voltage" and the "Oius" in T.N.T. We ended the evening with a medley of "Give Me All Your Loving" and "Sharp Dressed Man", again with the whole room singing and a packed dance floor. It was a fun night with dancing and singing from a packed and happy crowd, we are back there on Aug 20th but have plenty of opportunities for you to join us on lots of local gigs in the coming months. Hope to see you all soon we hope.Don't forget our next gig, which is on Saturday 30th April 2022 at Esplanade Club, Watchet - details on Lemonrock at:https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=779310Don
