Bar None [Rock / Pop]
The Bear, Wiveliscombe1 Jun 2021The Bear, Wiveliscombe Bar None 5 had our first gig for 18 months at The Bear in Wiveliscombe on May Bank Holiday Monday afternoon. It was a scorcher of a day and we were set up in full sun so lots of tuning issues, overheating iPads, difficulty in seeing the screen to adjust the levels on our digitally controlled Behringer XR18 mixer, etc, etc.I will admit that we were nervous, having only had one rehearsal as a full band.Muscle memory kicked in though and once we had started, we dropped into the groove and it was awesome to be creating music together again. The audience responded well and, despite COVID restrictions prevented dancing, there were lots of smiles all around.A great start, although the success was bittersweet as it was Russell’s last gig with Bar None as he is moving on to pastures new.Going forward the drum throne is going to be occupied by Simon, a hugely experienced and highly acclaimed percussionist. We look forward to introducing Si to you at our next gig, which is on Saturday 10th July 2021 at Churchinford Village Party, Churchinford - details on Lemonrock at:https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=768507Graham
York Inn, Churchinford3 Jan 2020York Inn, Churchinford Wow! The York Inn in Churchinford hosts an amazing New Years Eve party. Most of the village must have been there and the pub was full to overflowing. There was just enough room for us to set up and also leave a small area for dancing, but it seemed that people were jigging, singing along and getting into the party spirit wherever they stood.A great way to see out the decade. Dan - thanks for asking us to perform at your terrific pub.Hope to see you at our next gig, which is on Saturday 21st March 2020 at Kings Arms, Taunton - details on Lemonrock at:https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=745926Graham
The Holman Clavel Inn, Blagdon Hill27 Oct 2019The Holman Clavel Inn, Blagdon Hill We love the The Holman Clavel Inn in Blagdon Hill, it is such a friendly pub and the heart of the community.Despite being a bit tight for space, which makes for a compact set up, we always have a great gig and the audience really gets involved. Landlady Willow and her crew are very helpful, making gigging there a pleasure. The gratis cheesy chips were very welcome too!Hope to see you at our next gig, which is on Saturday 2nd November 2019 at Kings Arms, Taunton - details on Lemonrock at:https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=592866Graham
The Hairy Dog, Minehead22 Sep 2019The Hairy Dog, Minehead We had a great gig at The Hairy Dog in Minehead. It is a huge pub in the centre of the town which hosts live music and discos. A good sized area was provided for us to to set up and once sorted and sound checked we engaged in easy banter with the locals. It took a few songs to warm them up but once we had a few of the audience dancing the floor was busy all evening. Two sets of varied dance music, two encores and a final ‘calm down’ song and the audience went home sated. We are back to give a shampoo and set to the Hairy Dog on Saturday November 22nd.Hope to see you at our next gig, which is on Saturday 26th October 2019 at Clayhidon Parish Hall, Clayhidon - details on Lemonrock at:https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=611988Graham
