Basher Tate [Covers - various, 6 piece]
We predicted a riot and we were not disappointed. Basher Tate are tight, professional and so much fun! At our party the dance-floor was heaving all night; what further evidence would you need of a band's effectiveness? The sets were well-balanced and generous with an emphasis on great guitar tunes including "You gotta fight (for your right)" and "Are you gonna go my way?", both of which, we swear, were better than the originals. Certainly they can sing better than the Beastie Boys. All the musicians are very talented and they clearly love playing together. Their sense of fun and obvious enjoyment in what they do plays a large part in setting them apart as a superior outfit. The vocals (often a weak area in other bands) were superb.
Don't take our word for it, go along to their next gig and see for yourself.
If you are considering booking them, rest assured that their communication is excellent. They are reliable and flexible. They will even happily take on board favourite songs of yours (given enough notice, obviously!).
Thank you, guys, for making our party truly memorable.

Basher Tate do a mixture of pop rock & funk, we knew every song and danced and sang along like mental heads. The place was packed, I haven't seen it jumping like that ever and I've been in there a few times to watch live music.
They do songs from Abba, AC/DC, Killers, Doobie Brothers, KC & The Sunshine Band and The B52s to name but a few.
The highlight was when the frontman came off the stage and sang "Sex on Fire" right in the middle of everyone who were jumping up & down... us included, that was brilliant.
If you like live music you really have to see this band, I know we will be looking out for them & really hope they come back to Kirton soon.

It has been a while since we have been able to get to a Basher Tate Gig and although we missed the first set had another really enjoyable evening. They had already started the second set when we arrived and as always, had plenty of people dancing which is always a good sign.
Basher Tate have added some new songs to their playlist, most notably Somebody told me (The Killers) & Sex on fire (Kings of Leon) which along with the old favourites, "Le Freak", "Fight for your right" and "Are you gonna go my way", totally rocked Crediton. It's not often you see the landlord in front of the stage shouting more at the end of a gig.
There has also been a change in line-up with new drummer Jack Johns. By far, the youngest member of the group but by no means any less talented. Jack's drumming skills seemed completely effortless and he has gelled with the rest of the band really well.
For us the highlight of the evening was frontman Steve + cordless mic + talented musicians + Sex on Fire. Awesome!
Basher Tate were without a doubt "On Fire" tonight.

This was my first time watching the band, and it was radical.
They really knew how to get the crowd going and simply played slammer after slammer, which is all everybody ever wants from a live gig.
They were tight and at one point I actually thought a bolt of lightning was going to strike one of the guitars!
When I first arrived at the gig I was a little late, but happy to see the crowd were already loving their lives to the sweet tunes being rocked out.
My favourite part of the gig was when the inflatable guitars were being distributed, being a keen air guitarist myself, had a awesome time!
Well done fellas, looking forward to next time! :).

Well, as Steve the lead singer is my older brother it could pain me to say how brilliant this band are. This is the second gig I have been to and to say that they get the crowd going is an understatement. The variety of the tunes is just brilliant. There is something for everyone. In fact I don't think there were many people who did not dance at some point during the evening!
Along with funny lines from Steve who is the front man it made a perfect evening. Everyone was saying how brilliant they were and I felt proud.
Well done can't wait for the next gig 18th July St Thomas Social Club - be there or you will miss out!
