What's up, Doc?
26 Jul 2017What's up, Doc?
My God, does this thing still work??!! (Just kidding). Anyway, no time like the present to update a fan or two about my movements and whereabouts. Heck, it's only been eleven months. What's the rush, anyway? To be fair things were pretty quiet till spring of this year at which time quite a bit kicked off. First, there were the gigs. Between March and now I have played close to two dozen of them which has been most welcome. This included a three month stint at The Litton, a newly opened pub/restaurant, where I played every Friday night. It was a good opportunity to practise a bunch of new covers and also introduce a few new tunes of my own which I wrote in December - January. Other gigs included my now fairly regular appearances at the Horse & Groom in Westbury (thanks Nigel), the Street Inn in Street and the Hawthorn Hotel in Glastonbury. On top of this, I am now hosting a once-monthly open mic at The Pickled Inn (great name!) in Evercreech. The early part of this year was spent recording some new material for a forthcoming album called "Grounded" which will be available in digital format very soon. Although there are no immediate plans to release it on CD, I'm sure it will be in due course. Many of the tracks were recorded by Nathan Williams (respect!) who also helped out with the mixing. This is the first album to be released since "Initial Settings" in 2012 which, if your'e interested, is available to hear on Spotify and to purchase through iTunes and the like. Most recently - yesterday to be precise - I played a fabulous unscheduled gig at The Taphouse in Wimborne. To be fair, it was just covers but being asked for three encores was a real treat. Expect to see me back there in the future for one of their coveted Sunday slots.Anyway, that's all for the moment. Just thought you might like to know I'm still breathing.Best wishes to all my reader(!).You gotta laugh .....b.e_cooling
