A great local pub owned by John Govier - former Radio BBC presenter and producer and his partner, Ian.John's long standing reputation for supporting talented local musicians extends to his pub which he acquired in April 2014.In 2016 The Brook entered a national Music Makeover competition run by the Performing Rights Society. The pub won £5,000 to enhance its live music offering and spent it on a new PA, lighting and stage area. Later that same year The Brook was named 'Best Venue' in the Devon Performance Awards.Spacious yet with a homey pub feel, The Brook is a welcoming place where one feels drawn to enter and stay.
