Eat At Joe's [Various, 5 piece]
Saw this band on the Friday, went on holiday on the Saturday and their music stayed with me. A truly professional group of musicians and the best guitarist I have ever seen in a pub. When are you back to the Royal Oak?Saturday 14 April 2018
Thanks for the great review - it's much appreciated - especially by Jez! We're not sure when we're back at the Royal Oak, but watch this space...
Eat At Joe's are definitely a cut (or two) above the average pub band - a very professional outfit who have eons of experience between them. Their gig at The Barley Mow, Shepperton was excellent with most of the audience up and dancing and clapping enthusiastically at the end of each song. They are different from your typical pub covers
in that they don't play the usual pub rock standards - which is actually a refreshing and pleasant surprise. The mix of material is great. I even liked their version of 'Money's Too Tight To Mention', and I'm not a 'Simply Red' fan by a long way. Pete shows his vocal credentials on Al Green's 'Lets Stay Together'. A lot of singers would steer clear of such a
classic, but Eat At Joe's more than delivered with their own take on the song.
Check them out!Wednesday 31 January 2018
Thank you for the great comments - really pleased you enjoyed it, and hope to see you again soon!
A band of very accomplished musicians playing sophisticated music with a great frontman. If you want a change to the usual bash it out rock and rollers then see this band.Tuesday 30 January 2018
Thanks for the great review! Hope we can persuade you to come to another gig soon...
Had a great night at the Barley Mow for Eat At Joe's debut full pub gig. What a band! With a strong lead vocalist backed up by a four-piece of top class musicians with a wealth of experience behind them, you'll be hard pushed to find a more professional outfit around the pub circuit. There's a good selection of Steely Dan covers, and plenty more besides - check out the song list in the tab above. Go to the gig list and don't miss them - you'll have a great time.Sunday 28 January 2018
Thanks Steve - glad you enjoyed it!
What a terrific band, all experienced musicians and a great sound too. Every number was greeted with enthusiastic applause from the audience and the second half loads of people got up to dance. A good time was had by all.
You need to hear this band if you get the chance as I'm sure they will be going places.Sunday 28 January 2018
