Eat The Rich [Outrageous Rock, 4 piece]
Live and Ludicrous!15 Jun 2012Live and Ludicrous! Exciting times are ahead in the Eat The Rich world! We have been so busy over the last 3 months it's been unbelievable! What with St. Paddy's, Jubilee shenanigans and most importantly working on our new live album 'Live and Ludicrous', as well as our usual gigs and some cracking weddings to boot, we have been busier than a busy bee on the busiest day in the honey producing calendar, which is pretty damn busy. How hectic was March!? Pretty hectic for us, especially as it was St. Paddy's - one of our busiest times of the year.We had hardly any time to do anything else other than gig and we had some great St.Paddy's ones in March at some of our favourite venues including a triumphant return to The Ferryboat at Shaldon.April was quieter on the gig front, but although the gigs were lacking in quantity, it was made up by quality with a couple of real belters. The White Hart in Chudleigh, as usual had a great turn out, and there we also had a triumphant return to The Black Horse, Exeter.April concluded with us recording our new album 'LIVE AND LUDICROUS' which is going to be available from TOMORROW (16th June)! The album demonstrates Dingle's influence on the band since his apocalyptic arrival, and is available from us for the bargain price of £5 (£6 inc. postage). Just contact us via facebook or our website for a copy. It's worth it just for the album cover! If you've not seen it, check it out on facebook! In addition to recording this with the legend that is Nick Gordon, we also have been busy creating our first official music video, again with Nick and the talented Miss Laurianne Mitton. Details on this to follow soon. Don't forget there are loads of 'unofficial' videos on our youtube channel in the meantime. If you really can't wait.June brought the Jubilee, and free days off for all! Hurrah! Except for us as we were busy gigging, gigging, gigging! Two weddings in one day, and another great wedding at HMS Drake in Plymouth. Many congratulations to Ryan and Kelly, and look forward to seeing them at another Kitty's gig soon!June also introduced us to three great new venues; The Highwayman's Haunt in Chudleigh, The Spinning Wheel in Paignton, and last but in no way least, John Gandy's in Exeter. All fantastic gigs, but the John Gandy's brought a new meaning to the phrase "the place was jumpin'' - as it really and literally was! And the best news is they have booked us for St. Paddy's 2013!So what's to come after all that?We see a return to the drum kit for Nick 'The Sticks' Watson on 23rd, at The Ship, Teignmouth while Eddie buggers off to Knebworth to see Red Hot Chili Peppers, and we ourselves will be doing a couple of outsidey, festival type gigs too...16th June see us playing at Lapstock Festival, Lapford http://www.lapstock.org.uk/ Looks like a great festival and I'm sure the crowd will brave the weather, what ever it may be! Then on 29th we're playing as Diecey Reilly's, a regular haunt in Teignmouth, and finishing off the month we will be donning our festival best (which hopefully won't be wellies and waterproof ponchos) for Ullacombe Farm Day of Music http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ullacombe-Farm-Day-of-Music/175199895857953More news about our summer programme to come soon, but in the meantime you can keep up to date with us on facebook, twitter and lemonrock. See you soon!
February has come and gone...1 Mar 2012February has come and gone... ...and although a slightly quieter month on the gig side of things, plenty of other stuff has been going on for us!We started the month with a fantastic, and very well supported gig at The Black Horse, Exeter. Thanks very much to all those who made the effort to join us for our first gig at this venue with the new line up. I'm sure you'll all agree that it was a rocking night with some very enthusiastic and not at all questionable dancing! It must have gone pretty well as we've already booked our next appearance which will be in April! That was then followed by really good gigs at both The Twyford in Tiverton and Kitty O'Hanlons, Plymouth. Many thanks to Arturro who took some great video footage which you can see on our Facebook page, and also on YouTube. (See below for more on that....)In other news, you can now follow us on Twitter @EatTheRichMusic. That's how with the times we are! We also now have our own YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/EatTheRichBand?feature=watch that you can subscribe to, and watch some of our videos. It's almost as good as seeing us live...So what's up for next month? Well, it's a hectic one!We start off with a return to an old favourite, The Ferryboat in Shaldon on March 2nd . A lovely venue and we're looking forward to being there. That is followed by a gig at the Globe, Lympstone, another old favourite, on 9th March. Please see our Facebook page for gig times, or Lemonrock gig guide, or Twitter as well for that matter! One of our most favourite times of the year, St. Paddy's Day, is fast approaching. Always a good night for us, wherever we play. We've had some cracking St. Paddy's days in the past, and this year should be no exception as we have THREE gig sover St. Paddy's weekend. On Friday 16th we start the festivities off in true Irish style at Kitty O'Hanlon, Plymouth, starting at 9pm. If Plymouth is not down your way, you could always join us on Saturday 17th March at The Pen and Quill, Taunton, starting at 9pm. There's free soft drinks for your designated driver too, so no excuse. If you've still not had your St. Paddy's Day fill you can see us on Sunday 18th March at Dicey Reilly's, Teignmouth starting at the slightly earlier time of 8:30 pm. Phew! Then it's back to Kitty's again on Friday 23rd March, which is followed by a private party the following Saturday. March is then rounded off nicely with a gig on 30th March at The Ship, Crediton. As always, keep an eye on our Facebook page, and Twitter account for more info on gigs nearer the time.Hope you can make some of them this month. See you there!
January Update!1 Feb 2012January Update! Hello Everyone!Well, that's January over and done with, and we're happy to say that the dreaded January Blues seem to have bypassed us! It's been a very busy month. We brought the New Year in for the good patrons of The Passage House, Topsham - a very busy night with great food and drink as always (Thanks Lionel!) and our new lineup seemed to go down well with the locals. That was then followed by a gig at the Pen & Quill in Taunton - a relatively new venue for us which is fast becoming one of our favourites. We're playing there again on the 17th March for St Patrick's day - more details next month! This gig also stood out for us as the talented Luke Denham was in attendance (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Luke-Denham-Photography/140472899382877?sk=info), and he was good enough to take our pictures! There are some fantastic (and sometimes a little frightening...) shots of us in action which are available to view on here, our Facebook page and our website. We're pleased to say that the new line up is really taking off, and we have some very interesting covers in the pipeline! Tim has taken to his vocal duties like a blind dog to a meat market, and Dingle continues to shred to impress. We have really brought ourselves up to the 21st century by now adding videos to our various sites online! These were taken live at the Park Hotel, Exmouth on 20th January. Thanks to Tom Gilbert for taking the time to do this, and thanks to Dingle for taking the time to upload them.If you do happen to want a sneaky look at some of our new stuff, have a look at these videos! So, what's for the month ahead?Friday 10th February, we're at The Black Horse, Exeter. This will be our first gig at this popular pub, so we're looking forward to that, and hopefully they'll like us too. We start the night at 9pm. This gig has been well promoted, but please note that it is NOT on 11th February as previously stated! We're then onto some of our regular venues; The Twyford, Tiverton on Friday 17th February, starting at 9pm, and then onto Kitty O'Hanlon's, Plymouth on the 18th. Again start time for this one is 9pm.So, a busy month we've had, and a busy one we've got coming, so get on out there and come see us and let us know what you think of the new material!See you soon!
BRAND NEW MENU31 Dec 2011BRAND NEW MENU Following Matt's departure to London to pursue bigger things, we've had a bit of a change around. Still a heart thumping 4-piece folk-punk band - fiddle, guitar, bass, drums and shouting! We're still 'Eat the Rich'. We're still loud and raucous!BUT, we're now very pleased to announce the arrival of the amazingly talented Dave 'Dingle' Reeves on guitars. Also, Tim has added lead vocals to his duties, to go along with his fast fingered fiddle playing. We'd like to say a big Thank You to Matt for all his work over the last 8 yrs, and wish him well for whatever the future brings. So, if you're fed up with 'classic rock' and fancy something a bit different, come and have a listen to one of the most original covers bands on the circuit. We play music to dance and throw yourselves around to, or if you're a venue, music to sell beer to.Our's is a great mix of unusual takes on old faves, unexpected covers, traditional tunes given a good working over and the occasional original thrown in for good measure. We aim to entertain and have you leaving with a smile at the end of the night, and God knows we could all do with that in these uncertain times! So, catch us at a venue near you soon, or book us for your wedding, party, divorce, anything.Go on, you know you want to!
