17 Jul 2022Esplanade Club, Watchet (Last Minute Gig)Esplanade Club in WatchetWe were all set for a private party and had the all too familiar call, sorry Covid has hit the birthday party recipient, so our Saturday gig was postponed, hope you feel better soon. Not a day later, Roy from the Esplanade put out a call for a band for last night as the scheduled band was hit by Covid (again get well soon) so I answered the call and Roy said yes! We were only there 3 weeks ago but Roy always wants live music so we went into poster, FB, Instagram, Lemonrock, marketing mode from every angle we could as we only had 3 days to let people know. Well it worked as a lot of people turned out for us last night and we were pleased to see them. The 1st set was a little quieter inside as the tables out were rammed, but it was reported a lot were bopping on their seats. Set 2 got underway and they piled in to dance and singalong. Roy has great Air Con in there so it was pleasant, and we had our fans (things that go round to move air, rather than humans that like us, although they were there too LOL). There is a great story about John (guitarist) new air cooling fan, but that's for another day, lets just say it looked different in the picture and had reminders of Stonehenge from Spinal Tap ;-).The sets went a storm as they normally do with Bon Scott era AC/DC hits and the favourites of ZZ Top. Roy was great on the lights as always and the sound was good, again as always, love this club. Staff were brilliant and we all had a great time, Thanks again Roy and pleased we could help each other out is was a fab night.Hope to see you at our next gig, which is on Saturday 23rd July 2022 at Minehead Barbarians RFC, Ellicombe, a ticketed event for Somerset Harley Davidson Club, but all welcome, you can pay on the door to see us and later a fantastic Glam Rock Tribute. - details on Lemonrock at:https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=784276Don

26 Jun 2022Esplanade Club, WatchetEsplanade Club in WatchetWell the Esplanade crowd had a difficult decision - stay at home to watch "Macca" on TV at Glastonbury or pop into the Esplanade to catch our sizzling show (LOL). Seriously though a lot turned out on this summer evening and set the TV recorder for Macca as did we. The show was a roaring success and we had a few enquiries afterwards about availability. One guy is having a stag doo where everyone has to dress as Angus! Brilliant! (LOL) As you may guess he was an ACDC fanatic and was raving about our renditions from the Bon Scott era of his favourite band. His other half (to be) also loved it and danced to the hits of ZZ Top as did others. The dance floor was full, a few bevvies were downed by the crowd and a great time was had by all, on and off the stage. A few mentions. Thanks to Roy and the staff for the normal welcoming reception, Roy's lighting expertise always makes the show that little bit better. A very special thanks to Liam Wolley who stood in on guitar for us and did a sterling job. This gig was made to look easy, but with being a three piece, special arrangements have been created to compensate the lack of a rhythm guitar AND the very special arrangements we have for the ZZ Top hits, it's not for the faint hearted. Liam didn't disappoint in any way. He was fantastic and again we thank him for all his work behind the scenes he had to do to do this gig for us. He nailed it. You can check Liam out in his band Silverback, all their details are here on Lemonrock. Again thank to all concerned and a Happy Birthday to Paul, without whom the gigs are much more difficult as he carries, sets up and fixes any aggro we incur. Happy Birthday my friend. Next is an afternoon gig at the rugby club in Minehead, Harley Davidson Club Rally. all weekend with camping available I'm told. Other acts too, come and see us at 3pm on the Saturday.Hope to see you at our next gig, which is on Saturday 23rd July 2022 at Minehead Barbarians RFC, Ellicombe - details on lemonrock.comhttps://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=784276Don

1 May 2022Esplanade Club, WatchetEsplanade Club in Watchet'Twas a quiet, still & dark night in Watchet . . . . Until we started up and the whole club was rocking from the first number. Quality not quantity was the order of the night and although it wasn't rammed there was standing room only, add to that the audience enthusiasm (especially in second half) and the place rocked with us all evening. Our thanks to the staff for their welcome and use of the PA. Also special thanks as always to Roy for the superb light design we have all come to enjoy. He helps makes the show so much better and enjoyable for the bands and the audience. Again thanks to all for a great night, We are back later in the year.Hope to see you at our next gig, which is on Saturday 7th May 2022 at Bar 27, Bridgwater - details on Lemonrock at:https://www.lemonrock.com/gig.php?id=791539Don
